I've rented the game recently (I had rented once before also) and I enjoy playing it, but I suck terribly...and that's on rookie difficulty. Has anyone played it or have any advice on how to improve my game. Obviously, it requires practice and a learning curve, but outside of that is there anything that you might recommend?

I have it, I do career mode and can win races, but I don't drive the cars right. I eat the tires and go way too fast into corners. I usually win on short tracks though, but I can't figure out the medium size flat tracks.

What series are you racing now and how did each series compare? I entered in a cheat and drove the truck series and found myself doing much better there.

I do much better on short tracks and do okay on the talledegas and daytonas. I might as well not race the Martinsvilles and such because I just can seem to get a good turn, or I ram the people in front of me and they put me into the wall a lap later. I guess a lot of my problem is that I can't draft or hold a consistent line. My car setup probably needs to be tweaked, but I don't know enough about cars to do it so I race the default setup. I also suck at racing in a pack and when I can't take good lines, I drop to the back of the pack on one turn.

I leave my setups at default becuaseI don't know anything about cars either. I am in the Cup Series, it took forever to get past the Busch series. I think the cup series is harder, they do a pretty good job of making each level a little harder than the last imo. It doesn't help that my cup team doesn't give me very good cars either though.

I found this trolling around this afternoon. I used the setups in my Featherlite races and finished with 3 top 10s including a second place finish. Now if I can just keep from getting spun out. At least three races, the person behind me spun me out on the first turn.

Do you have the steeringwheel/gas pedal accessories?
I have an earlier version of the NASCAR game, but the steeringwheel setup is far superior to a handheld control.

I don't. My dad bought a setup a few years ago, but it's never left the box, so I when I head up to NoVA for my brother's graduation, it might be making a return trip to Kentucky.

I have a steering wheel/gas pedal thing but I never use it, it makes the game much harder imo.

With the setup,it's just like driving a car.
You may need to get a tv tray stand to set it on to get the right height.

Maybe I'll try to get it setup right one day. THe way it is now I have to turn the wheel completely around just to make a slight turn in a corner.
