WASHINGTON (AP) -- The United States' image is so tattered overseas two years after the Iraq invasion that communist China is viewed more favorably than the U.S. in many long-time Western European allies, an international poll has found.

Polls like this are so hard to guage though. Perhaps the people of Europe are holding the United States to a higher standard than China. You never know. One thing is for certain: Thanks to George W. Bush and Dick Cheney, we have fewer allies now than we did 5 years ago and it will take decades, if not generations, to regain the credibility we had.

Seems like the comments lately are setting up a future action against Syria. Thats a good thing. Syria is a threat to our national economy and the broders of this great nation. If we don't stop Syria soon, they will eventually take over all Mid-East oil, institute high price floors, and it will eventually tank our economy and nation as a whole. In essence, Syria is our single biggest threat int he world. They will slice american children when they get a chance and rape our wives and sisters. :rolleyes: Whoa. I better watch writing this stuff, I would not want Cheney to read this, that would make perfect sense for him in his justification.

The real threat in todays global world are two Asiance countries, period. North Korea has a very unstable leader, the government is nuts, and the y have Nukes, that all equals a huge thread. The other is China. They are the single biggest threat to us as INDIVIDUAL Americans because of the economic potential of China and the ability in future years to dominate markets, buy American companies, and become the premier economic superpower.

One way to compete is right in our back yard. Instead of dictating, controlling and manipulating our neighbors in Mexico, Latin Americana nd South America, we should invest billions into oru neighbors, grow their economies, and build new, untapped markets with our hemisphere. Building a healthy western hemisphere market bloc is the way to ongoing success and growth. We need to stop ridiculing and controlling these nations and start treating them as friends and partners. That is the way to comepete economically with China!

Too little too late PSF! Dubya spent that money in the fiasco he perpetrated in the Mid-East.... And now, recent news reports indicate that the Taliban are "streaming back into Afghanistan" at a high rate. This after, of course, they were in Syria and Saudi Arabia and of course, Iraq, at the US funded "terrorist training grounds".
