I went with Joe. He had some great games last year, though I love Noble. I'm rooting for Noble.

Salavea will start and hopefully we will be seeing more of his "air guitar" dance.

I picked Salavea, due to nobles health issues, if noble was healthy, he would be starting.

I went w/Joe as well. Isn't Noble coming off off-season surgery on his knee? I thought I read that somewhere. Anyway I believe we'll have a good rotation w/Noble and Boschetti giving our starters a breather.

He got a bad infection in his knee and lost 50 pounds. What bothers me is we have no one on the entire defensive roster over 300 pounds except for DT Cedric Killings at 325 and DE Boschetti at 306. i hope Noble can get back up to 315 or 320.

I went with Joe also due to Noble having problems and weight issues.

Howard is that kid out of FSU, right? I thought he was a DE? Anyway, I said Boschetti, as Salve'a seems to be a situational guy that you bring in to change the pace on the OL.

yeah i think he is a DE. 255? he is way to light to be a DL.

as for the poll question, i voted for joe. he quiet, yet productive season and i dont think noble will be ready to start.

I agree about Noble. I probably should've stated that in my post. He's just recovering from knee surgery and he's lost a ton of weight. I don't know that he can anchor the middle like he used to. At least not right away. Maybe in November or so.

If it aint broke you don't fix it. Go with Samoa Joe. On a strictly per dollar basis he was the Redskins' best free agent acquisition of last year.

I voted for Joe as well he had a very good year last year. He anchored the line against the run and help free Griffen up to rush the passer. I am not one to down Redskins but I can't ever remember Noble having a major impact on any game since he has been here in Washington, so I don't know why it would start now.

I think in a pinch Demetric Evans can move into the middle, but would no twant him there for several games.

welcome, Battle Cat.

he and Wynn both have the size to move into the middle...i'd like to see it once in a while, especially on passing downs.

I like the group we have gathered. First and foremost I still want them too be tough on the run, because that was the platform for the blitzing from all angles that Gregg Williams used last year. If we can get more pressure from the DL then that is a bonus.

A thoughtful and realistic assessment of the Skins Dline. Good job.

It is amazing how this group went from the weakest link on the team to one of its strengths. Of all the major sports, coaching is most important in football. The Redsins Dline is a good example of that. Don't let Gregg Williams slip away!

On paper, yes - but GW is a master at getting production from unlikely sources. Until that changes, almost all of my concerns for this season come from the offensive side of the ball.

I've said a million times that I am worried about the health of the Dline. I voted for Joe Salavea , and I am praying that nobody goes down!

Where did you determine he had lost 50 pounds?

Howard played DT at FSU playing behind Travis Johnson.

Quoted from Redskins.com

Signed by the Redskins as an undrafted free agent in May 2005...Played in all 12 games as a senior at Florida State...A defensive tackle who tied for the team lead in sacks with five...Played in all 12 games for the Seminoles, including the Gator Bowl win over West Virginia...Served as the primary back-up to starter Travis Johnson...Recorded 17 tackles (nine solo), 7.5 tackles for loss and five sacks on the year...In 2003, backed up starter Darnell Dockett at defensive tackle, while also playing some defensive end in long yardage situations...Credited as being one of the most effective pass rushers on the defensive line by coaches and teammates

Griffen is indespensable at DT. If he were to go down, we would be in real trouble.

I heard him say so himself in an interview on the Elliot in the Morning radio show broadcast in DC and Richmond. They cleaned a bad infection out of his knee, he was hospitalized for a while. he's working his way back. He just turned 31 in April. I'm hoping he can make a comeback.

Welcome to HR.

Last year Joe was one of the most under-rated players on the D. He was solid and I expect him to be there again.

Nice assessment, except the writer hatin on Warner, calling him a she, and all!

I am sure it was just a typo. I don't think it was the same as Parcells once calling his No. 1 draft choice (WR Terry Glenn, I believe) "she" trying to light a fire under him.
