I signed up for something a while ago and now I get emails about madden. anyways there is a very interesting q&a here from a guy who runs the site I guess and has played Madden 06.

you have to scroll down some to get to the Q & A. Its long but good, pretty much covers just about any question you may have about the gameplay

dang, that was loooooooong.....

i didnt get through the whole Q&A, but i did notice this:

Q: How is the running going w/o a studda, can u gain yards on a toss?

Yes, the outside run game is great. The offensive linemen actually pull like they are supposed to.

thank you! i love to do toss plays with CP, but it seems like his speed isnt even an advantage because the defenders are right there after 2 yards or less.

I don't know if I like this

Q: Since they added Playmaker a couple years ago, if you scrambled with the QB you could redirect a receiver when the passing icons were down with the right Analog Stick. Now that there is the Truck Stick, is QB option still available?

A: No it’s been removed from the game.

I use that occasionaly to pick up a first down. If I had a reciever or tight end running a short crossing route, I would roll out to the side the receiver is supposed to end up on. Normally he is covered by a linebacker. I would use the playmaker and send him upfield then lob it over the linebackers head. the corner and safeties would get to him fairly quickly but not until I gained 10 or 15 yards.

I loved that part of the game. It could turn a busted play into a first down if you knew how to use it.

I never even knew you could do that.

Q: In your opinion, who has the best or most exotic playbook? Im sure you know what I mean.

A: Jags, Dolphins, Cards, Vikings, Panthers, Steelers, Saints, Texans, Pass Balanced. They all have some nice shotgun formations. Those all come to my mind. Also throw in the Skins, minus no Shotgun.

The Steelers' playbook last year was sick, but I'm sure that it's not nearly as pass happy this time around.

A lot of no (negative) reponses by that guy, as if there are still many good aspects missing from the game.

Yeah, I drove all my friends crazy with that. I could turn a broken play into a 30 yard gain faster than anyone I know. They'll be glad it's gone.

I know people who have perfected it...and use it on virtually every play.

I think they got rid of it for that very reason.

God, my roomate made me crazy with the slot z out play to the point where I wanted to pull my hair out.

I didn't see this question but I wonder if there will be more interceptions this year. I hate when the ball hits a LB or a CB in the numbers and he doesn't make the catch.

A flat zone is good against that play, but I will admit that it was one of my audibles.

I got a question for you Madden lovers.

I love to play the franchise mode and in the last two editions i have noticed an incredible difference between All-pro and all-Madden difficulty. I can go 16-0 with #1 passing and running offense and #1 Defense in All-Pro, but I am getting killed going all-madden with essentially the same team. Losing by 30 and never winning. My defense is bad, espescially on 3rd downs, and I can't sustain a drive if my life depended on it.

Any thoughts?

It is the EXACT same for me...I cant pass or defend the pass at all on all madden...

thats so true, all pro sometimes is too easy, and i can win every year with it, but all madden, im getting like 13-14 points a game or something. they need to fix that. and its really frustrating cuz i will finally have a long drive and i get to the 10 yard line, and i get picked. this happens to me all the time

The only time ive been succesgul in all madden without getting frustrated and making a new franchise was when i had a jaguars team that was 4-2 and i ran the ball alll game....but i still couldnt pass at all....and doesnt it seem the computers defenders make incredible plays, but your corners suck?

good corners, good safeties, a great mlb, and an unbelievable LE are the keys to all-madden defense.

Yea i guess...but mlb doesnt seem neccesary becuase it seems like the computer doesnt run much.

Protects the pass over the middle. I usually end up a MLB with about 8-10 INTs a season.

My thoughts are that All Madden is impossible. To avoid unneeded stress avoid All Madden. I would like to see a level in between the two. All Pro is definatly too easy. Alot of people say to adjust the sliders on the AI but thats too much of a pain in the arse if you ask me.

Pshah, you Madden amateurs. :p

All-Madden's easy to handle if you can get a feel for the passing. That's the only way I can really describe it... there aren't really any plays that will never fail or formations that open everything up. It's just a feel. You get it, and suddenly, your offense works.

thanks guys, at least I know I am not alone. I am 0-5 on my franchise now on all-madden after 7 straight superbowl years in all-pro. I decided to trade away alot of aging talent and go for the future in the next year's draft. But I was pretty deep and I don't have that much of a drop off in talent numbers. Morale sucks but if I can string a few wins together it will be all good.

your morales down mostly from the losing record and the trades. start winning and they start to be happy again. i can usually win in all madden, but i get so ticked off at how ridiculous it is sometimes. the computers 75 corner shuts down my 99 wr, yet my 99 cb w/ 95 speed gets burned and smacked around by a computer 84 wr w/ 88 speed. absurd. oh and who else is pumped about madden coming out? im ticked cuz im out of town next week and cant buy it until friday. im going to need some posts about it from you guys

All Madden isnt too tuff you just have to mix it up...and don't get to attached to a set of plays cuz they might work in the 1st half...but come second if you do the same thing you will lose...

Blitz the MLB up the middle and he will sack the QB pretty often. You have to make some line adjustments to make this work.

That is exactly what I was going to say. All-Madden is easy, you just have to treat it just like a real life game. Especially on defense. You think that GW has some crazy blitz schemes, come look at mine! I will usually run my defense out of a base 4-3, but then I will scroll through and change all the linemen/lb's assignments. I will usually blitz at least 3-5 players every down. From all different angles!
