My football spirit is getting enhanced by the day. Let me tell you why:

1). I was driving in to work today listening to ESPN through Sportstalk 980. I actually heard them talking about football for about 20 minutes. Can you beleive it 20 minutes of football!!!!! Wonderful, then Sportstalk 980 came on and immediately Talked about Sean and Mike Barrow. A smile immediatly rose on my face.

2). I cut my grass yesterday and the thought of the groundkeepers at FED-EX.

3). I was in Sports Authority last week. I saw them starting to put out the little league football gear out on the floors.

4). I gave my son entering his 4th year of playing ball (little league) a coaches speech. The subject: "Taking out the trash" How I turned that into a football speech, I can't explain. But it worked.

5). I'm beggining to bump into many of the kids I coached in the past three years and asking them the most important coaches question "Are you coming out this year?"

Lavar wanting to sit down with the skins to settle the money issues, Sean ontime to camp, Moss, Patten, Portis...Jansen is back!!!
I can tell the excitement of this season is brewing by the minute. What indications have you gotten this week to let you know that "Gibbs is cooking up a B&G stew that will be tasty for all Skins fans?

I tell you I'm beginning to smell it.......Sniffing...Can you Smell It!!!!!?

I couldn't agree with you more. I have been leached (if thats a word) onto the TV just watching NFL network and of course sitting in front of the computer on HR trying to see anything dealing with football a lot here lately. I have been going around sparking up conversations with people about the upcoming season, just trying to put the football spirit back into everyone. I really have a good feeling about what is about to happen this year with the skins. I really think that we are going to have a breakout year & shut everyone up. Damn I can't wait. Gibbs is definitely cooking up a special brew for this years league. The entire league is about to have a big ol' cup of this stew & they don't even know it yet.

ive been waiting for this season as soon as last years ended. this is the first year i actually followed the offseason in detail, trying to learn about free agency and salaray caps and stuff. ive always watched the games and stuff, but never took an in depth look at the business side. im just trying to be patient waiting for even preseason to get here.

I hear ya JTF!!!

I was listening to ESPN Radio 1310 down here in Chesapeake on the way into work this morning and Todd Wright had Gil Brandt as his guest. Well, of course Gil got to talking about the tribute to the triplets during the Monday night game and how Acheman got his first NFL win against the Skins in '89 and blah, blah, blah.

As if I needed more motivation to hate Dallas. Last year I worked hard at getting my oldest son to watch and cheer for the Redskins. This year we will be joined by my youngest son, who will be 4 in Jan. I'll enjoy watching the games with them that I don't attend. Gotta start the little ones off right in life if you know what I mean!

This year I see the Redskins coming back to prominence in the NFC East with Coach Gibbs proving all his naysayers wrong once and for all.

I am getting geeked by the minute!

I'm excited, nervous, anxious, happy. its building and it makes my stomach upset. I think I may throw up right after opening kickoff.

NFL Live is back on, Rookies are signing, Taylors showing up, I getting into arguements over football again with hethanist non Redskins fans, camps only a few days away, followed quickly by a scrimmage against the jailbirds.

I was just thinking today about Hank Williams Jr. song on MNF and him asking "Are you ready for some football?" and I think, thats a dumb arse question Hank. Of course I'm ready.

Oh, and JTF, I'd love to here how you turned taking out the trash into a football speach.

That would make 2 of us Joe! Please fill me in on that speech. I have been involved in a lot on sports talks in my day, but never one that started with trash talk.

I definitely smelled something, but I thought it was just my gas. Turns out football season smells like flatulence. Who knew?

I'm so pumped up right now. The last few weeks, I've been popping in some old Skins games just to get me by. I can't believe the season is almost here. I'm not sure my excitement is higher than last year, when it was sky-high in anticipation of seeing our Coach back on the sidelines. That being said, the excitement is pretty close to that, as I'm feeling VERY positive about this season. C'mon August 1st... get here sooner!!! :)

Joe..you left out the fact that Madden 06 will be out in a few weeks :) . The skins seem to be a decent team too...here are the ratings (http://sports.ign.com/madden06/redskins.html). Check out Roger's stats!

(Keep in mind he's a QB) I said to him..."In order for you to be able to follow order, you have to take out the trash. Just like Fake 32 - 80 Boot TE Cross... if you don't wait until the TE crosses then you'll be sacked. It's all about following order....So to sum it up if you don't take the trash out, you'll be out of order..then you get an unsportsmanlike conduct penalty...leading me have a need to rough the passer.

He got up and ran out side..... :lol1:

Awesome Joe, Me Too. I can't wait to see us on the field Gibbs in year 2.
Everytime I run into Sam, a coworker and reputed Giants fan, I see cornelius smashing Eli's hopes.

I would've told you, there will be no sacks or roughing the passer because I'm holding out for more allowance. And if I you don't show me the money then you can wait for the TE to cross and take out the trash yourself.....lol, I'm kidding I would have taken out the trash too... :Peace:

For me, I'm totally and completely distracted at work. Camp is quickly approaching and instead of an entire new team and coaching staff to try and observe we've to just a couple key things to watch...mainly skill position battles. In camp I'll be looking at: 1) QB's - Jason Campbell, 2) MLB - who's beginning to pull away from the competition, 3) WR - same.

This is the most excited I've been about preseason I think ever. Last year, there was just so much nervous energy, but no baseline to compare to. Now we know exactly what we had and that's got me really excited. August is going to fly by, this is GREAT stuff.

I'm excited about the first Monday night game. I'm hoping to be on a high from our first win and turning to Atlanta vs. Philly. WOW! I'm pumped about Cooley. This guy is only going to get better...

I'm pumped about the wife actually talking about our basement. It's unfinished and we're starting to talk about designs. It will be centered around a sports bar/Redskins media room motif and I'll get to move my growing collection of memorabilia from the office into permanent display at home.

That's just a handful of the things that have me insane with anticipation. Oh yeah, the wife pulled me off of hr.com the other night at 1:30AM concerned about my mental health....
