Let's give this a shot....

I've always wondered what happened to previous Redskins greats of yesteryear. Are they still around? What are they doing now? I bet some of the older members here will know a bunch about previous Redskin greats and what they are up to nowadays.

Does anybody know what happened to Andre Collins, Brad Edwards, or George Rogers?

Or if you know what any former players are doing in life after football, post it if you'd like.

I ran across another site that featured some Redskin "Where are they now?" results only he called them "Whatever happened to...?". This guy talked to Billy Kilmer by phone last year and also has write ups on Larry Brown and Ken Houston among others. Pretty neat to see where they ended up. Larry Brown was my first Favorite Redskin when I was about 6 years old. He was one heck of a player.

Reading Ken Houstons story it was interesting to note that he said if George Allen was still coaching when he got hurt in '80 instead of Pardee, he would still have kept playing.

It's at a site called sportscolumn.com

Here is the Link (http://www.sportscolumn.com/story/2005/4/11/142552/802)

Good stuff about Houston. Thanks for that, GR. This is why I thought this was a good idea because I never really knew about his career or life before, I only knew his name and what position he played.

That was pretty cool Canibal. If the AP was keeping tally of Defensive player of the year before '67 than the Skins would have had the consensus Rookie of the Year - WR Charlie Taylor and the Defensive player of the year S Paul Krause in the same year.

That's amazing.

Wonder if that has ever happened.

Really, I hope that is true. The last I had heard on him is that he was delinquent on his child support payments and in hiding.

That pretty cool redskinmayhem. Raven was a tough dude. Excellent Special Teams player.

My wife pulled the same stunt with me a few years ago. She is a nurse working at an Urgent Care clinic in Chesapeake...anyway, she came home and told me they had a Drug Rep come in today who used to play WR for the Skins.

I said "Huh? What was his name?"

She said "I think he wore #84 and his name was Gary Clark and Oh, I got his autograph for you." I was off that day and could easily have gone down there and met him in person cause we only lived 5 minutes away from the center.

I said "Thanks babe, but next time Gary friggin Clark comes in the clinic how bout givin me a call so I can come down and meet him in person."

She said "Why you ungreatful SOB..." J/K, she didn't say that. It turns out he didn't come back to the clinic but he got a job for some ice cream company. I think there was a thread on it sometime last year cause he was doing a promotion down here in Hampton Roads.

My bro is a swimmer and so is Joe Jacoby's daughter. My brother says that he has talked to him a few times at the meets. He sponsored a pretty big meet called the Joe Jacoby's.

a couple of years ago i was working at Innsbrook, an office park here in Richmond, right across Broad Street from Universal Ford. we have this paper called Style Magazine in this area, and i was looking at it and there was Chris Hanburger on the cover. He was the sales manager at Universal Ford. They had a nice article in there about him and his career after football. i should have saved it. i'm not sure if he's still there or not. does anyone here from the Richmond area remember anything about that?

I was just in Innsbrook staying a hotel there. Beautiful office park all along, I think it is --- Cox Road.

cool, i worked in Innsbrook for about 8 years. i live just a few miles west from there. you're right, it's Cox road that runs through Innsbrook, between Broad St. and Nuckols Rd.

Where Cox hits Broad, across the street, is the Universal Ford where Chris Hanburger was working.

small world.

Oh, oh, wait a min. I almost forgot. Old #52 Neil Okelwicz(sp?) owns his own soft drink delivery company in Montgomery County. When I used to work at Abercrombie and Fitch( I know I know :banghead: ) in Montgomery Mall, I was a stock boy and part of my job was was to let the Soda guy in to refil the soda machine. So on my 3rd day of work, the back door rings and I look through the peephole and I see this huge bearded dude with soda's. I think nothing of it and open the door only to find Neil, who by the way has shoulders at least as wide as 2 of me(and I'm an avid lifter). So I'm like, "OMG your Neil Okelwicz"!!!!! He says, "yeah and I'm here to refil your soda machine." He was apparently less impressed with himself than I was. Very nice guy though. I'd hate to be an RB coming throught the line and find him at the other end. Only about 6'1" or so(if that) but very wide and stocky.

Hey, Ive posted this before. I recognized him in the bathroom and asked if he was indeed Brad Edwards and he was a nice guy. He let me go on the field at Williams-Brice during a couple games while I was there. He still wears his Super Bowl ring everywhere(so would I).

Thats hilarious AKH I also met him in the bathroom at a Bar in Tysons corner Va. when he was still playing. He was a very genuine guy. On the same topic Dexter Manely stepped on my foot at that same bar.

That's pretty cool Chief...Vernon is a defensive backs coach with the Kansas City Chiefs now. In his 2nd or 3rd year I believe.

DENVER -- Former Washington Redskins running back Timmy Smith was arrested in Denver Friday afternoon for allegedly distributing cocaine, the Drug Enforcement Agency said Friday.

Smith, 41, now lives in Denver. He and his brother, Chris Smith, 35, of Lakewood, Colo., were both charged with conspiracy to possess with intent to distribute more than 500 grams of cocaine, U.S. attorney's spokesman Jeff Dorschner said Friday.
