I had a blast with the family. The kids (cousings and all) really enjoyed the fireworks we did last night. Didn't go to the Mall this year but people were out very early and Kenny can atest to that. On our trip to the Fairfax, VA. parade, we saw the Potomac loaded with boats and families were already claiming their locations for the fireworks that would occur 10 hours later in the evening. Boats were anchored side-by-side and we just new the level of partying that was going on on them was at a high level. The parade was awesome. The Redskins Band has marched in the last three of them and it is a good one. There's never a low moment in that parade because people are lined up throughout the whole route and we constantly played tunes like Earth, Wind and Fire's "In The Stone" and "September". We also played "Prince of Thieves" from Robin Hood and without doubt our famous song "Hail To The Redskins".

Oh man, are you guys bringing back some fun memories.
When I was stationed in Baltimore, it was the Coast Guards responsibility to make sure none of the boaters would anchor in the channels. Had to keep the channels open for boats to get into and out of the Inner Harbor. We would head out around 12 noon and wouldn't get back until 3 or 4 in morning. We'd start out the day assisting people. By the end of the night, we'd be give sobriety tests to those same people.
Ah, the fringe benefits of being in the Coast Guard around a lot of drunk boaters....especially the women. For some reason, they just had to drop their tops about 10 times a day.
Very good times....

Put it this way....We all drank enough to actually jump into the Potomac, which is about the dirtiest water I've ever swam in. (Or rather, drank in)
Mike~ The police/coast guard had a LOT of work to do making sure the channel was clear. We were originally in the "Washington Channel" and had to move towards the tidal basin.
My buddy's boat is docked real close to the "Sequoia" (sp), which was Nixon's old yacht. THey had a lot of VIP's drinking Champaign on it, and they were not pleased with my group's various front flips and cannon balls off a nearby party barge. lol (It didn't stop us, though)
