God I could'nt imagine not being a Redskins fan but for the sake of discussion, let's just say there was no Washington Redskins to be a fan of, which other NFL team would you root for. Where would your loyalty lie.

Tough question . . . maybe Detoit . . I grew up in Michigan . . but the Lions suck and I want to be able to root for a decent team . . . maybe Arizona . . I live in AZ now . . but again the Cardinals suck . . maybe worse than Detroit . . . I guess Atlanta . . I love watching Vick . . what an amazing athelete . . . BUT THE SKINS EXIST AND I LOVE MY SKINS !!!!

Probably 49ers cause 49ers vs Rdskins was the first game I ever watched. My Dad is a Niner fan which is why I picked the Redskins. Considering the fact that it was in the very late 80's I wouldn't have been complaining either way.

Indeed, very tough question. I have been thinking very hard on this question. And I can't come up with a answer. I honestly can't think of one other team that I'd cheer for.

I guess it could be the Texans now. But, it doesn't feel right saying that.....

Ahh, this one is easy.

If there were no Redskins, I would be a NY Giants fan hands down.

My brother is a NY Giants fan, my mom's roots are in New York, and there is no question in my mind that I would be a dern midgets fan.

Thank goodness for the Redskins!

The midgets. AS IF!!!! ;)

I'd probably would root for the Raiders. I really have no 2nd favorite team so it's hard to choose, but if I had to pick one it would be the silver-n-black. The only other team I could think of that I could see rooting for would be Green Bay.

I would root for the Colts or the Browns, but neither one can or would ever take the place of the Skins.

Whoah... I don't know how you came up with that. Actually I've never really rooted for the Redskins, but after seeing what Dan Snyder did this past offseason, Snyder has definitely earned my respect. But I don't consider myself a closet Snyder fan since I have been pretty outspoken on other boards about having high regard for what Snyder has attempted to do this past offseason...

Very interesting.. I don't think I have ever read your comments about that.. I of course am all for it too because it's just Snyder trying to do his best to make the team better but I am interested to hear your comments as another team's fan. What makes you say you have high regard for Snyder's attempts this time?

Oh I am a Houston Texans fan by the way. I have always wanted a favorite AFC team and so I figured why not jump onto an expansion team and hang on for a ride. And they are against the Cowboys too! haha

But not to fear, as it's already been said numerous times... Skins all the way. :D But #2 - - Definitely the Texans.

If there were no eagles, it would be the steelers probably.

I remember being about 7 when I started to really love the game of football.
And what I remember is, also liking the ST. Louis Rams.
So, since I never waver in my loyalties, I probably would still like the Rams.

But I have no idea why...

I like the fact that Snyder is not afraid to think outside the box and do things that nobody has done before. If you look at what Snyder did this past offseason, it really seems that he passed on drafting players out of college in order to pick up other teams' restricted FAs. Obviously nobody has done this before, but Snyder has caught the attention of a lot of GM's around the league.

On one hand it's a great move. You know exactly what you are getting. You bypass the risk of drafting a player who could turn out to be the next Ryan Leaf, and instead get guys who you know you can build around.

On the other hand, it puts the Redskins in an interesting predicament when it comes to the salary cap. The one great thing about draft picks is you don't have to pay them a lot. If 1 or 2 of them can start producing early, that pays off in more ways than one.

Regardless of how this latest endeavor turns out, I tip my hat to Snyder for being the first to try it. I like owners who are always seeking out new things, and trying to be the first to do something, as opposed to being the first to follow... One of these times Snyder's risks will pay off, and he'll end up with a Lombardi to show for it...

To be honest, I probably wouldn't have a team. Right now if the Skins aren't playing I really don't watch TV much on sunday. I don't even think I am that much of a football fan as it is....... I am a REDSKIN FAN............and damn proud of it!

That's tough.....no Redskins, because of both teams history I'd have to say either the Bears or the Packers in the NFC. Don't laugh but maybe the Browns in the AFC or the Steelers.

I try not to think about it. :banghead:

good bye football............ ok if i had too either the Ravens (hometown), colts (team that played in my hometown when i was born) or carolina( closest team). I still would hate the cowpatties, always hated the monicer "America's Team" how pompous is that.

it's even worse when it's "self proclaimed"!

I would watch a team from the north more...because nothing takes me away from reality than a game with snow coming down, I totally get lost in the game, and the game is "old school". So Green Bay, or Cleveland would be my likely choices. I hate Buffalo and Chicago so I can't go with them.
Being a football fan, it probably wouldn't matter.

Definitely

Falcons (NFC)
Bills (AFC) - in a sympathy vote for their 4 straight SB losses. That is still impressive without the victory. I guess the law of averages wasn't with them.
