Tre was on Fox5 tonight. Was asked and provided some good answers to Feldman's questions. Among his answers: (for those outside the metro area that obviously couldn't see this)
-would have never left DC if it weren't for Schittenheimer, but understands that it's a part of the business and has no lingering hard feelings
-feels good right now in regards to his knees
-knows that the coaches are viewing him as a backup after the pickups of Thomas and Fiore, but will go at it with the intentions of winning a starting spot when camp starts
-spoke glowingly of an expensive watch that Stephen Davis gave him after he paved the way for Big Country to go to the pro bowl
-doesn't know how to describe Canidate at this point. Recognizes that he is a great athlete and noted that he looked great at mini-camp, but also said that everyone always looks great at mini-camp
-feels that if he can get through camp healthy then he knows he will have a decent season
-spoke of the adjustment to Spurrier's way of football, which is in stark contrast to any system he has played in before ever
-says that he will not be one of those athletes that you will have to push out the door. Suspects that he himself will know when it's time for him to hang up his cleats
-also noted that training camp is the absolute worst part of the NFL playing experience for every player that has ever played.
All in all a great interview.

yeah i saw that....he is the man....our o-line will be one of the best if healthy and used in the right way(meaning the best starting 5 out there)

It will be great if Big Banga lines up and plays well all season. Tre has been a favorite of mine for years. I just doubt he will be a starter this year without an injury to someone

Did he look to be in shape?

He didn't look bad. He was sitting down so I wasn't able to really get a good feel for his size, but he was clean shaven with a goatee, which is a step away from the Tre that you and I know h2s (football season he is usually rough with the facial hair, his game face so to speak  ) and the dreads are still flowing. He said that he was fine, wishes he had a few more weeks to relax, but also knows that it's time to get to work.

When healthy he has proved he is great. When he came back last year he stabilized our line. But this year he got injured on a treadmill:confused:
I think he will be a great backup. just think he deserved the #77. Spurrier and Snyder are definitely not Numbers friendly...

I like the idea of having a "rested Tre" on the sidelines that can come in on any play and make a difference. Our O-Line's depth is top notch!
I'm surprised he didn't pimp out Canidate. Usually players overly compliment their teamates when asked. By the sounds of his comments, he may have some reservations about Trung.

In his defense, Feldman asked him about his thoughts about his career blocking for Terry Allen and Davis. I think what he was trying to say that compared to those two guys, Canidate hasn't accomplished anything yet, and he wasn't really gonna say that he had the looks of the backs that he has had the pleasure of plowing holes for. It wasn't a diss, at least it didn't come across that way IMO. It would probably have been better to actually hear his comments then to read them to gain the proper perspective.

Gotcha. I do wish I could have seen the interview. Even though I know it would be impossible, I would LOVE to get some "down and dirty" opinions from our O-line on the Canidate/Betts/Watson/Morton situation.
I'd love to know:
Who do they see as being the best...
Who they think will win the battle...
Who has the best chance to be a premiere RB in this NFL...
Who outright sucks....

I'd love that too, but it would have to be in an environment where they weren't afraid to step on anyone's feelings and say what they really felt.

Wasn't Tre supposed to be training with Ken Harvey, if that was true, Tre should be a wide reciever this year:D
