Redskins are the late straters for training camps. Baltimore, Cincy, Indy,a nd Washington have rrokies and vets report July 27th making those four the last foru teams to open camp. Interesting why they are so late.
Compare that to two dominating teams, Green bay and Tampa Bay, that open camp the earliest, starting July 18

Did those other teams have as many coaching sessions as this team has had? Also, starting a week earlier means players can start getting injured sooner.

This kinda goes in line with Spurrier's "relaxed" attitude about practice. He would rather send the boys home early after a good workout than drive them into the ground for an additional hour or two. Similarly, he would rather start practices later in the season...
Many think his lax attitude towards training will negatively effect his team. I disagree. Spurrier's practices are shorter, yet smarter. Why burn out the team? I got to go to training camp once last year...and as soon as the team hit the field...they immediately seperated into their respective groups (O-Line, LBs, WRS, ST..etc) and within 5 minutes, the assistant coaches had them doing numerous drills. I was very impressed with the organization that Spurrier conducts in his practices.
Remeber Spurrier's comments about Jim "Hassit" from the Saints? He said he didn't feel the need to work as hard as him. Well, over the past 2 seasons, Mr. haslett's Saints are 16 - 16. It just proves that over-working isn't always the answer.

I hear ya Lady. Somehow, I ended up with two seat cushions. My son has one and I took the other. For some reason, I took the duffle bag instead of the helmet....Still wondering what I was thinking....
