Some hilarious advice from the far-right Christian wingnuts on how to make sure your son don't grow up to be one of them thar sissyboys! You can only get this stuff straight from the wingnuts. Found this over at James Dobson's Focus on the Family:Meanwhile, the boy's father has to do his part. He needs to mirror and affirm his son's maleness. He can play rough-and-tumble games with his son, in ways that are decidedly different from the games he would play with a little girl. He can help his son learn to throw and catch a ball. He can teach him to pound a square wooden peg into a square hole in a pegboard. He can even take his son with him into the shower, where the boy cannot help but notice that Dad has a penis, just like his, only bigger.Source (http://www.family.org/docstudy/newsletters/a0021043.cfm)

Oh, yeah -- that should work. Shower with your son and encourage him to check out your package. I think that's what turned Charles Bronson into such a tough guy. I'm telling you, these wingnuts are the funniest people around. What isn't so funny, of course, is that they increasingly run the country.

THat had to be the gayest thing I ever heard. First wrestle with a young boy, teach him how to pound something into a hole and then shower with him.....

When will they learn that anyone who is against gay people are....wait for it.....GAY!!!!!!

You guys remember the movie "Airplane"? Somehow, I think the line "Billy, do you like gladiator movies" keeps coming back to me every time I read this thread.

I think you missed this part of the article, Spence:

A good way to show your son the benefits of a sinfree lifestyle, use your connections or write letters and try to introduce your sons to his celebrity heros that live a great, clean lifestyle. Such good Christian men like Michael Jackson, Pee Wee Herman and Geoffrey Jones.

Well that's not fair. Dobson's is an "innie" not an "outie".

Gay men are gay because their fathers didn't teach them how to play catch!?!? I had no idea it was that simple.

This Dobson character is clearly a cretin. I can understand if you want to advance the theory that homosexuality is a learned behavior. I can also understand if you might want to give advice as to how to raise your son (or daughter) so that they are in an environment that might be more conductive to ensuring to the heterosexual lifestyle.

But to have your son shower with you? Is he freakin' insane? I would submit that if he believes that homosexuality is a learned behavior that putting so much emphasis on the male genetalia at such an early and formulative age is precisely what a parent would NOT want to do.
