Hope it works out for him there.

Just saw this as well as was going to post. Stephens the man. I will definitely be cheering for him to succeed in Carolina. Class act and a hell of a north/south runner. Would have loved to have it work out with him here, but I understand the entire thesis as to why he had to move on.

I'll have a hard time pulling for Davis in Carolina. I hate the panthers about as bad as the Cowboys.....

Hailyeah, its the truth man. They are my second most hated team. The Eagles and the Panthers are tied. I can't stand the Panthers. I was hoping that Davis would go to the Texans....

and how it fits into the way we play
This is the key to Davis success. If he fits - he is a hero  and does the job. If the system, meaning the Coach and his game plan, don't work out, then he is a bust!:cussing:
I wish him well - hope does become the RB the team needs and does not do well when the 'Skins play them!

Spurrier is an idiot for screweing this up and always will be. He could have used Davis if he would have balanced things out a little bit. We won everytime he did and he kept going away from it. Davis is a great running back and has nothing to do with the system, just a hard headed rookie coach.

I know we love Davis and all but he was 29 and for a RB thats the tail end of a career. Do we really want to throw alot of money at someone that did not even fit well with the system in place?

Guys, we are forgetting a very large part of the deal was the fact that Davis was going to count 11 million dollars against the cap this year. Davis isn't no where near worth that kind of money. No RB is.

Just to play devil's advocate on one particular point, you say no RB is worth that kind of cap hit. What about one LB (Arrington) or one OT (Samuels)? I know that Lavar was right around there with all the escalators that kicked in. Yes, they are younger and have great potential, but Davis was no slouch. They need to rectify Lavar and Chris's cap friendliness sooner rather than later.

Also remember Davis is 29 but he spent a few years as a FB and a back up so he might have 4 years of use on his legs.
I agree, if Davis wasn't worth 11 million is LaVar and Samuels? What about Champ? I can't answer that
