I need some opinions from the MONACAN conference owners.

The final owner has reported to the Monacan Conference today, so we are fully staffed and ready to start playing some fantasy football! I'm in the process of having our draft order created, but in the mean time, I need to know everybody's opinion on how the draft will take place.

Many of you wish to have a LIVE draft, which is fine, but if we do so then the 12 of us need to find a common agreeable 3+hour timeslot to get it done online. Fanball has a great live draft room to use. (with timers...etc)

So...if you are interested in doing a live draft, please post times/dates in which you are free during the month of August. (The later in the month the better)

I personally think a weekday night around 7:00pm would be the best...but lets see what everybody's opinion is.

BTW - I'm personally free EVERY week night (Mon-thurs) after 6:00EST in August except on Monday the 25th.

Live drafts are way more fun, and offline drafts are much longer, but if something were to happen such as a power outage or if something came up to where I or someone else would miss the live draft that would suck...you can prerank, sure, but once certain players are gone it changes your list, when fanball wouldn't compensate for...


I vote for an offline-email draft...if we go with a live draft that will be fine, and I'm USUALLY available after 6 on any weeknight.

I cant pin-point an exact day in August which would be bad or good. My schedule is set on a week by week, day by day basis. I'd prefer to do a LIVE DRAFT. Is it possible to "pre-rank" and perform a live draft? Incase your "clock" runs out, at least you get a pick and the draft keeps moving. Also, I'm +4 hours ahead of EST, but if we start at 7PM, I could deal with that.

With seeway being 4 hours in front of most of us, I say we start at 7 pm. But then again, Big Country is in LA. So, that puts him 7 hours behind seeway. Perhaps we should do this on a weekend night.

I also can't say what day would be good for me right now. But, I'm up for a live draft.

August is not the best month for me... period. I'll go with an e-mail draft. Hell, I'm even willing to let someone, anyone, draft for me...:whoknows:

That is a possibility...I just wonder if it will be even harder for the 12 of us to find an open Friday/Saturday night to do this on. Guys...chime in your opinion on this idea. (I am personally not available the weekend of August 22nd)

I think the only FAIR way to do a live draft is to make sure everyone is available. Setting up your draft card, and ranking the players from 1 - 200 is a VERY difficult task. I appreciate Keino offering to draft for anyone that unexpectedly couldn't participate. That would be a GREAT backup plan if, for example, one of us found out 3 days before the live draft that they couldn't be available.

I agree that would suck...however, we can't delay the group's decision to draft live simply because of the 1% chance a power outage were to effect one of the owners...or the 10% chance that someone gets stuck in traffic. If for some reason one of us couldn't make it...the fanball servers would simply "draft a team for you". Its not a perfect system...but at least that person would have a team.

Lets keep talking about it. The draft will take place sometime in August...so we have plenty of time to look at our schedules and come to an agreeable time. If we can't make it happen, then I'll schedule an "offline email draft" starting the 2nd week in August.

If I know ahead of time I can work out Fri or Sat night...

Mon or Tue are good as well.


Sun, Wed, and Thurs nights are totally off-limits for me.

Ok....Here is everyone's reponse for availability for a live draft (3+ hours) in August. I'm also emailing this to everyone. We need to hammer out a date ASAP. I'm personally going on vacation this Friday for a week, so it would be nice to have a date (or timeframe) set up ahead of time.
