I will translate this so you don't have to read the drivel: Although there was prime time evidence to the contrary and Champ was burnt toast under the lights, he is still a shut down corner because people says so, including himself.

Denver coach Mike Shanahan, who traded Clinton Portis last year to get Bailey from the Washington Redskins, defended Bailey earlier this year when he mentioned the pass rush. Shanahan said no corner could have success without a good pass rush, no matter how good they are.

Umm i guess he didnt watch the Skins play.

What is everyone going to wake up and smell the coffee on this guy? I don't really care what the media thinks anymore. Point in case, Denver acquired him to boost their d. Did that happen when Peyton and the Colts lit a fire under Champ and the Broncos' *CENSORED*? He isn't the best and is easily the most overrated player in the NFL.

I want to see the look on his face when Moss beats him for a TD this year.

His problems here are still his problems there. Sure, he'll shut down a guy for all but 2 plays, but those two plays usually end up being huge plays, mostly for TDs. I would rather have a CB give up 7 catches for 85 yards then 2 for 2 TDs, but that is just me.

Roland must think pretty highly of himself:

"I talk to Deion all the time. I told him I'm about to pass him right now. Of course, he doesn't think so.

I hate Deion w/a passion but there is no way in the world that Champ is close to Deion status yet. He may be the best CB in the league right now but he doesn't shut down the field like Deion did. Wake up Roland and smell the coffee.

Pete Prisco is an idiot. Whats with all the crappy sentences in that article? The ones that are like four or five sentences long.

Deion was a devastating return man. Champ can't even field the ball cleanly...well, he couldn't in DC...don't know what he's doing in Denver and I don't care.

Who cares if you shut a man down 98% of the time if he takes the 2% for deep bombs. Sure he's good most of the time and excellent much of the time, but it's better to give up 7 ten yard passes than one 70 yarder. I'm not buying it Champ. I've been a big supporter since day one, but I just can't do it any longer.

Good points. I was thinking the same thing. Aside from the normal Champ bashing, I was never thought he lived up to all the hype. A good CB but not a great one.

Haha, nice to know Shanahan has Roland's back by providing him with a killer pass rush in the form of the Cleveland Browns D-Line... hahahaha.

Two stats are all you need to know about Champ:
1-25% of his career INTs were against Plummer before he joined Denver
2-Champ before 04 never had a pick against a team that made the playoffs that year

We had a good pass rush...it just didn't come from our D-line...

And folks, this is coming from a guy who used Champ Bailey as apart of his screen name for a long time.

Agreed SkinsKY...

no way is he better than deion. the thing about deion is, he got a lot of picks, and he could return it on u too. champ hardly gets a lot of picks, prolly like 3-4 a year tops. the only thing he does pretty well is get tackles.

I'm tired of Champ and his mouth. He just needs to get burned and burned often from here on out.

There's a poll on that site on who got the better of the deal, Washington or Denver. This is kind of hard to believe but last I checked Denver was up 60 to 40%. I said we got the better of the deal in a heartbeat.

I'n sure that has something to do with the 2nd rounder we gave up too. We'll see how those numbers look after this season. ;)

I can't wait until we play Denver, hopefully either Moss or Patten scorches Chump and then half of our members here will have the pic on their sig.

Way to come around my friend. Despite Prisco's assinine assesment, most Bronco fans weren't overly pleased with him last year. They expected more from him. They need to understand 1 corner can't change the whole defense.

oh but wait, they added john lynch too.....

i dont want to bash champ, but why did he change so much when he went to denver? quiet here, mr. media over there. maybe that altitude is getting to him. maybe he's as good as deion NOW, cause i'd bet he'd get burned by eddie kennison too.

I like John Lynch. Think he is an awesome safety. Nonetheless, he didn't help get the job done either.
