Thanks all for the info, and the nice welcome. I will try to post more. It's hard coming in at wee hours of the morning. At work, third shift is the the crazy shift for sports.
I know R .Thomas is the new guy with big money, but tre was our guy for so long before. Is this not right or is it me?

Yeah gibbswasgood, we had the conversation before. I feel Tre should have it but others don't because he left.

I disagree. Thomas should get the number. he is the starter, he is the future, period. We brouhgt Thomas in to anchor that OG spot for years to come, to me, that is deserving of one or two privileges.
BTW, not sure if I made a welcoem to your or not, if I did not, :welcome:

Nope Thomas is the starter..unless your a legend like Darrell the starter needs to get it.

I forgot to mention that maybe it would have been a nice gesture for Thomas to give Tre some money for the number. I have seen many players do that. Would have eased any tension about it.

Didn't Tre recently get resigned by the Skins? If so, R. Thomas may have been the only "official" Redskin at the time, between the two of them.
Also, has Tre publically bitched about this? Or is this debate stemmed from his fans?
I think a box of Krispy Kremes should make Tre happy!

At the time Thomas was signed, Tre was not yet resigned. But I remember that this year when he came back as a free agent, Albright give it back to him. Tre had probowl years with us, his efforts could have been recognized by this gesture.

as i said on the Tre on Fox thread:
I think he will be a great backup. just think he deserved the #77. Spurrier and Snyder are definitely not Numbers friendly...

Tre had a few good years, that I'll give you. BUT, Tre is not Joe Jacoby, Mark May, Jim Lachey, John Riggins, or Darrell Green. Thomas starts, Thomas is a future por bowler, Thoas is the future, Thomas get sthe number. If you are nto a legend like Green, thenit goes by what have you have you done for me lately, and what Thomas has done is sign here to be the starting OG for the next five years, and aproven damn good one at that.

Spurier stated he chose Thomas because he is going to be the starter bottom-line. SS feels who ever is earning the starting spot deserves first rights. I totally agree too, unless it was a life long franchaise legend like a D. Green ( like TexSkin said). We wouldn't allow Bailey to have #28 even if he wanted it.
:banghead: #77

I think the number should have been given to Tre or Thomas should have compensated Tre for it as Tre has been in the league longer
