Washington Redskins
Owner Daniel Snyder helped his team secure an automatic hate bid.
After throwing millions at limping veteran players, Snyder tossed his checkbook at Steve Spurrier. Then he lobbed it at Joe Gibbs.
According to league insiders, Snyder may pay for a séance to conjure George Allen and/or Vince Lombardi.
By the way, the team nickname is offensive. My suggestion for its replacement is Washington Pasty White Guys.
Even though he was taking a swing at the insufferable fans of the Dallas Cowboys, Gibbs did his part in helping the franchise earn a spot on this list.
In case you missed it, Joe said Cowboys fans were the ugliest people on the planet.
Then he said it was a joke.
Gibbs does this every year.
Last year's joke was installing Mark Brunell as his starting quarterback.

That was kind of funny.

How can you not put the Patriots on the list. Everyone hates a team that never stops winning.

All four teams in the NFC East made the list, so I guess that makes our division the most hated of all. I don't know why but I like that.

It's true, the Skins were never really hated en masse until Snyder took over. Too bad, because there are a lot of misconceptions about the guy. People who don't know better assume he's some rich kid who inherited all his money, when in fact he made it all himself, coming from lower middle class background. And, to be honest, his looks don't help him overcome that stigma. He sort of looks like an arrogant young rich punk that you want to slap around a little, but I suppose he can't help that.
The Mark Brunell tag line is just stupid. And Brunell's performance this year so far is hinting that it may be VERY stupid. Time will tell, but I'd love for a lot of people to have to eat their words concerning Brunell. (Including me.)

They still hate us for winning 7 out of 10 superbowls. We dominated so long all the other teams hated to see us win. That is why they are so happy us and the rest of the NFC are no longer as good as we were. Kinda like the earlier statement about the patriots in this thread, alot of people probably do hate them for winning so much, but you aren't gonna here that in the press as long as they have the "Golden Boy" at the helm.

It isn't how he got his money, but how he spends it.

Actually, I believe it is 10 wins out of 18 Super Bowls for the NFC East.

I still don't see what was wrong with what Gibbs said. Who enjoys staring at a pair of sweaty ManBreasts?!? They're ugly.
By the way, it's usually the most hated of the teams that have the most devoted, fanatical following, and I think that describes the Redskins pretty well.

I also love how he devoted what was basically the longest section of the article to us.
When we start winning, every journalist in the country hating us will just be funny.

lol, that's some good advice!
jets fans really are the most obnoxious people in the world. i was at an orioles/yankees game earlier this summer and as soon as the o's started to win, the yanks fans behind us started chanting "J-E-T-S jets jets jets!". i thought the usher was going to have to come break up a fight because people started throwing stuff at them.

When I looked at this article I was hoping Baltimore was on the list ('felons are us") but that last reason he gave shows you what an idiot this guy is. Sometimes I think all these guys are sheep.
1. Art Modell - bad!
2. Dan Snyder - rich boy who shouldn't own the team (jealous much?)
Excuse me, the Packers are on this list? I don't know anyone who hates the Packers even if they root for another NFC Central team. Hate them because Ahman Green fumbles and ruins the betting line? What is that about?
The comment about the Rams just seems sexist at this point:
Anyone not in St. Louis has to despise owner Georgia Frontiere, who put the shrew in shrewd.
After reading the entire article it is clear he is trying to be funny but failing completely. The concept of most hated teams is a rich one and one filled with possibilities for fun at owners, players, and fans expense yet this is what he came up with? I mean Dallas made the list with no mention as to their title as 'america's team' nor there hedonistic, hatable mid-90s. What about their ability to ruin Thanskgiving single handedly?
How about these abominations:
1. The Browns dog pound and uniforms. The NFL is not Penn St.
2. Speaking of uniforms - Tampa Bay before 2001. I need say no more.
3. Cincinnati Bengals / Arizona Cardinals - I WILL hate them for being so bad. They make everything depressing by association.

Gee, Fox came out with another top ten sports list. How original. This list is as lame as tha show the sports list hosted by Summer Sanders. You have to care about the team in order for you to hate them and minus three or four teams on the list no one could give a rat's behind about these teams.
As a laker fan I know what it feels like to have everyone hate your team. Nobody hates the Redskins. I doubt even Dallas fans hate us cuz they kick the crap out of us every year. Actually Len P hates us.

Actually, people do hate Brett Farve, but I think just why they do is question not even they can answer. I mean... he's Fav-re. He's funny, and he's good. He's taken more personal trauma in the past few years than some people will in decades. What is there to hate?

I dont think people hate him. But they do hate the way the media deifies him. Its just nothing but an endless barrage of butt kissing from every announcer. Whereas some NFL all pros get blasted for wanting to continue to play, every announcer and their mother preaches how Brett should play as long as he wants.

yeah, true. i mean i think he has earned a lot of the respect he gets, but during the first packers preseason game, the announcers were talking about him like he is in the best shape of his career. i respect the man, but let's be real now.. he's aging. and he throws a fair amount of picks, god love him.

I think that this year you may have to take the Bengals off the "being so bad" list.

funny you say this, my Wife is a huge Packers fan and we always agrue over this point, cause I actually think the media makes more of Brett Favre then they should, while a good QB I honestly don't think or have ever thought him to be a elite QB like most do, actually other then his 2 SB seasons in the playoff he as done nothing and remember in the Rams playoff game he threw like 4 or 5 int's, Favre is imho vastly over-rated (I know many will blast me but that's my opinion of him)
