Ok, folks, we did this last year and plan to do it again in 2005. We have become aware of a Redskin fan serving in Tikrit, Iraq. As fellow Redskin bretheren, and a special way to say thank you for the great service you provide this great nation, we here at hR would like to record by DVD the Redskins and then have it sent to him in Iraq. hR will cover the cost of doing so.

Hey, how's about besides donations and DVD's, we send some ticket stubs of games with each shipment of DVD's? Just a couple from the folks that went to games and a program once in a while or each time (maybe even the PR department Redskins Park will pitch in the program!)

my brother in law is over there. big skins fan himself....ive been thinking about seting up an old computer to record/broadcast games for him. so he can just get on the internet and watch it live/recorded.

i'll try to let you guys know if i get it going, not sure of the legality of it though :rolleyes: so that might stop me....

I remembered this thread from last year and was amazed at the kindness shown at HR. I was hoping to rekindle the spirit again this year for a fellow Burgundy and Gold Fan Club member here in Dallas.

He joined the Army last year and was recently told he would be off to Iraq in the next month for a minimum one year tour.

I'd try it myself but the owner of the Resturaunt is hesatant to allow recordings off his satelite feed, and I have no way of recording off my TIVO, even if I got the NFL Seaon Pass.

If anyone has any suggestions, assistance etc.. I'd be glad to hear it. Anyone recording / sending games please know that we here in Dallas will cover all expenses for our long time friend.

Also please keep him in your thoughts and prayers as he goes out and puts it all on the line for all of us.

I think that those who have volunteered to record the games, when they have a chance should look at their schedules and note any games that they know they won't be able to record.

It seems like we have enough people that we shouldn't miss a single game for these guys.

I have just been Deployed to Afaganstan an it is hard to catch any games due to the time change, and they only air certain games. Please if all possible could I get the games burned for me also? unless your brother-in-law has access to the IT office of the base I don't think he'll be able to stream anything... or have access to the proper ports to get anything like that from you. But it's still a nice idea.

I have a dvd recorder.. and I am 18 so I woud like to help but I cant gaurentee any DVDs recording cuz Id ont know how often adn when I can get to a post office and things like that.. shipping and stuff like that.... so I mean when I can .. I halted mailing the week 1 DVDs out as soon as Keino sent me Colkurtz's address. We have a total of three Redskins fans who need to see these games.

I have both the Minn and Dal games taped for all three...and after the Hou game, I'll send each all three games on Monday afternoon. Might as well combine the shipments...

Can someone else backup tape the hou game just in case? My DVD burner is acting up lately...

Hey everyone, i just wanted to thank all those who are helping with the DVDs for us overseas!

Some of the games are shown here, although it is 8 hours later. Monday night game = tuesday morning at 4 am. The biggest problem is that workdays are very long (12+ hours), everyday, so a DVD is the only way to watch a game in your spare time.

I did see the Monday night game and got not sleep that night in order to watch it.

I have a few minutes every night to read hR some nights and it cheers me up to see Ahk, CY, Smoak, Shally and the rest engage on the QB situation. nothing changes!

Anyway, I'll be back when the season is over. PM me if you want pictures of Saddam's palaces, his personal lakes or his favorite tractor [no kidding]. Anyway thanks for you who are sending DVDs - they are much appreciated here.
