OK guys and gals, I wanted to request all of your prayers for all of the young men trying to make the different squads. And the first time mothers who don't have a clue and the dad's who tell thier kids everything different from what we're trying to teach them. All in all, it's all good. :)

Now on to the update:

As you know I coached the Kettering Largo Mitchelville Boys and Girls Club's 65lb PG County National League Champions. We won our division (National League but lost the championship 18-6)

This year many kids on that team have moved up with my son to make the 75AAA team. I wasn't gonna coach this year, but after a week of sitting in my stadium chair, I got tired of watching kids cheat on thier exercises and walking, when they are supposed to be running. So at the request of many parents, one 10 year old kid who said to me privately, "Coach you need to be out there coaching". Also with an offer from the 75AAA coach, but ultimately I asked my son how he felt. He said "dad I want you out there". So I grabbed my whistle and joined the coaching ranks.

QB's
My son Isaiah (10) has moved up to 75AAA and is currently in a heavy QB competition with an 11 Year old. They don't really know about the competition. But they both really work hard together and are making each other better. They're pretty good friends.

RB's
We have 3 returning AAU track stars. 2 of them finished 6th, in the Nation, in the relays, at the AAU track Nationals in New Orleans three weeks ago.

Oline - My section

After teaching the oline the importance of gap protection coupled with drive blocking, I saw the entire defensive line on their backs during a innner team scrimmage. Which made me she a tear. The excitement matched the excitement I had when I saw our Skins Oline handling thier business, protecting the QB.

We'll be focusing on Defensive line penetration this week after a poor showing on this past Saturday against Germantown.

Next Opponent (scrimmage Montgomery Villiage Chiefs)
Saturday 11:00 AM

Continue to pray for us.

I personally really love the updates! You know we wish you the absolute best. I also love to hear that your son and the other QB have such a great attitude... these days I fear that kids are imitating idiots like TO rather than playing the way the game was meant to be played.

YEa smoak before practice they often get together and work on things like passing while on thier knees..(Helps Accurcay) without the coaches telling them. It's really amazing to see the growth in all of them.

JtF, since this really doesn't have anything to do w/ the Skins, I am moving it to the hospitality forum.

That's cool..I didn't know where to place it knowing someone would move it to it's proper place.

THanks

Great updates Joe! I've never actually seen a little league football game. They must be fun to watch. Best of luck to your son on his QB competition. By the way, are you related to Sean Taylor? I've always wanted to know that since you say your last name is Taylor and your avatar has you and Sean in it.

No we're not related to my knowledge. I would love to talk to hiom and find out where his roots are. Maybe they do match somewhere down the line...I met him at training camp last year..
