i haven't heard any updates yet.. listening to the postgame radio show on WJFK. i know he got hit in the ribs but he walked off the field and on the ambulance on his own power. so hopefully it's just precautionary.

I'm 99% sure I saw #41 on the sidelines BS'ing well after the injury report. In uniform. Anybody else catch that?

that was Brian Kozlowski.. he also wears #41. there's a couple others that wears the same number (Stoutmire and Combs #32, Randy Thomas and no name #77, etc). they should let guys wear numbers in the 100s.. it's only the preseason.

He was taken to the hospital. He wouldnt have had enough time to make it back to the sidelines.

So was it Bowen? I think I heard them say bruised ribs during the game.
I'm pretty tired so I hope I didn't just make that up in my head. Did y'all hear that or is it just me?

Bruised ribs was the initial prognosis but then they sent him off in an ambulance. I am worried he may have broke a rib. A broken rib can puncture a lung, which would need immediate surgery and that is why I'm concerned that he was taken to the ER.

That's scary, I'm really looking forward to full healthy Bowen season with this defense. Okay it's making me think if it was only bruised ribs he wouldn't be going the hospital he would probably just be taking it easy, have the training staff look after him, and maybe get in the ice bucket or something.

I think its bruised ribs and an X-Ray is a standard operating procedure these days, due to hairlines, etc. The good part about it is he'll have time to heal, since we are solid in that position.

On TV they said that he got into the ambulance under his own power, so I pretty sure he's not too bad. Punctured lung, he'd be caughing up blood and would have been laying on his side on a stretcher.

I sure hope it's not serious.

Yeah, I know how he'd be with a broken rib and punctured lung. Its just wild speculation on my part but I usually expect the worst. They have an X-ray machine at FedEx, so there had to be more reason to send him to the hospital.

I bartend in the summer and it's been sort'a hectic in my home.
My wife and I have a new baby girl as of the Fouth of July. Her name is Chloe.

You're right about the x-ray at the Fed, my guess is a second opinion was warrented since he wasn't going to play in the rest of the game, I hope. (My fingers are crossed.)

Postgame interview on Redskins.com last night...Gibbs said, they thought it could be something internal so they sent him to the hospital as a precaution. But the word he had gotten back was just bruised ribs and Bowen was OK.

On the post game show, they said the x-rays were negative (no fracture)... But why go to the hospital? Maybe there is something wlse there...

Bowen seems to be out more then he is in...wasn't he carted off the practice field last week? I may have to find myself a new favorite player...getting harder and harder to defend this guy when he can't play....~sigh~

Dunno how the relationship between me and Matt Bowen got started...I think it all started with a few small hits...then it kinda got heated when he was knocking guys unconscious during practice (you have to understand how these things make a girl feel) then of course there were those 3 interceptions in 2003….But the thing that I love most about him…~sigh~ is that he’s a writer as well as a Football Player…
