Alternate Uniform rumour

So I just sold another truck to a Redskin...........
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
and I asked for his Retro jersey from last year.

He told me the player were not alowed to keep retros, because they will be wearing them against Dallas this year, at THEIR HOUSE!

He also said the Redskin will be wearing white jerseys, and white pants against the Jets on opening day.

I like the idea ofwhite on white uniforms. I still wish they would have made the retros in white and burgandy.

I dont know how popular this opinion will be... but I like the regular uni's over the retro. Not sure how the white on white will look... but I like the 80's - 90's uniforms the best. Perhaps it is because I dreamed about them so much back in highschool while defending them to my friends?

But...the FO already thinks the retros are bad luck for us, and I think that is the main reason why they won't change them to the retros fulltime.

I love the Retro's, and would like to see a White jersey version of them. The Burgandy Uniforms with the White pants just doesn't look right, but I do like our White uniforms as they are now also. In the Retro's or the regular Burgandy uniforms the Gold pants just look better.

Well if this is the case, I dont know why they're planning on wearing them at Dallas.

In any case, I think the Gold pants are key.

I liked the retro jerseys especially the nice dark red (true burgandy) color...but the helmets were ugly.

I swear I will go postal if the Skins drop their indian head...that would completely piss me off...mess with the uni all you want, but leave the emblem ALONE!

Bah, white on white is fine w/ me. Any change is fine w/ me, I'm tired of looking at the same white tops and burgundy bottoms every game. The helmet I do like but the rest needs some modernization. I'm really interested in seeing how the white on white turns out.

Between the Pre-season and the regular season last year I bet I saw the skins in 5 different uniforms.

I think they only wore 3 last year, would have been two but Spurrier wanted to wear the regular unis instead of the retros for a home game or two...I believe he said because of the heat...

I was thinking the same thing, but didn't want to say it since it mkes snyder look like he cares more about the money than the team. So now that you brought it up...I completely agree.

The only retro merchandise I bought was a Samuels jersey and a mini helmet.

I don't see how this would be an instance of Snyder attempting to sell more merchandise. The jersies in question are the same, as are the pants. It seems to me that the only variation here is the color of the pants in regards to the color of the jersey as we are used to seeing, and unless I've totally missed something, I've never seen the team offering the consumer a pair of authentic game pants for sale in any of the team stores. Who would walk around with them on there day off?:D

I don't remember seeing the Redskins in any thing but the Retro's and the White uniforms last year. They wore the White uniforms at home for the first game last year (because of the heat) and for the last game of the season at home with Dallas. They wore the Retro's for every other home game and the game AT Dallas.

Not even ... check into the "official" combinations that New Orleans and Seattle use ... probably others too .. they have at least 4 and I think the Saints have more than that.

And not too many of the current uniforms have been the same style as long as the Skins have either (I hope that's true ... I didn't actually check but I think it is)

Man, the RETRO uniforms were the HOTTEST unis in the league last year, period!! I too would love to see a verson in white (w/ gold or burgundy pants). I really love the unis of the early/mid seventies (with the stripes on the sleeves similar to the packers, steelers, etc...w/ the gold pants that had the 3 thin stripes on the side). Does anyone remember those ones. By the way.........................I HATE THE IDEA OF WHITE ON WHITE.

i think because the redskins uniforms dont have much design to them, white and white would be boring. i could see burgandy and burgandy but the pants would have to be shiny. actually they could play naked, :bigeyes: :badgirl:, i dont care, just as long as they play.......is it september 4th yet??!!

not sure if i would like same color on same color...but if they were to do it, i think burgundy on burgundy would be better than white on white...

i'm a regular uni fan...i grew up watching the Skins win Super Bowls in their Home White jerseys, burgundy pants, and indian logo helmets. colors could change, but that's what i like to see...

So then explain how we did so well in the 80's then sucked in the 90s WITH THE SAME UNI's???

We need to just keep the indian head! That's the most important thing...I could care less what they do to the uniforms as long as we keep that indian head on the helmet!

What about an "alternate" away helmet? What if we had a dark gold away helmet w/the traditional "indian head" logo on it. I'm trying to picture that. Wonder if it would look cool or stupid. Hmmm. As a matter of fact, if we keep our traditional helmets, I would like to see a change in the color/hue....like true Burgundy and Gold to replace the Red and Yellow that we presently wear. JMO.
