I've seen this done at other MBs and I've heard some great stories this way. If you have a funny, scary or just unbelievable story, share it here.
I've told this story before but I don't believe it was here with you guys.
I'm guessing, but back in '94 or '95, a buddy that I was stationed with in Baltimore, and myself, went down to Fells Point. (?) We went to "The Green Turtle" for Monday night football. They had .10 cent hotwings and $1.25 long neck MGDs. $10 bucks and I was buzzing and stuffed. lol
Well, anyways, we were lucky enough to find a parking spot right in front of the place. Right when we were get out of the truck, a homeless person comes up and starts hounding us for some money. Naturally, we ignore the old man and go on our merrily way. We go into the Turtle and have a great time. Never thought about the homeless guy again.......that is until we get ready to leave.
As we make our way out to my friends truck, the same homeless guy comes running up to us yelling something. I first thought we were getting ready to get into a fight. I couldn't have been more wrong.
It seems that when my friend was getting out of his truck at the beginning of the night, he locked his door from the outside with his keys. My friend was distracted by the homeless guy when he began begging for money.
Anyways, my friend left his keys in the DOOR of his brand new truck! And this same homeless guy that we ignored and laughed at, waited 3 hours for us to return to give Aaron his keys back to his truck! We couldn't believe that he'd do that for us after the way we treated him.
He went on to say that all homeless people aren't bad people. Just down on their luck right now. He also told us to be careful because there are some bad ones.
Aaron gave the guy $20.00 dollars and I was so moved that I threw in $10.00 dollars myself. And, everytime we would see him, we'd hook him up with some money. He could very easily have sold my friends truck for $1,000 dollars or even less to a chop shop. But he didn't. He waited around for us........

I have another story to tell but I'll wait for a while until I hear some of yours.....

Here is one...
My wife and I were newly engaged and decided to take a trip across the country. It was 1993 and little did we know a major blizzard was heading for the northeast. Since I was young and stupid (so different from now!)... I didnt check the weather before hand and even pressed on as the snow started to fly.
We ended up getting stuck on a ramp near Wytheville, VA. Our little Nissan was stuck behind an abandoned 18-wheeler and a snowbank... unable to move either way except sideways. We had no blankets... no food... no water... and it was about 1 am... no traffic in sight for hours... a real pickle.
After getting frustrated and wet while trying desperately to push the car out of the drift, my bride to be suggested we pray. I obliged her, but with only half a heart.
No sooner had we said "Amen" when there were headlights in the rearview mirror coming up the ramp behind us. My fiance suggested I get out and flag them down. I got out thinking it would be some old couple who would be of no help... but low and behold up pulls a mini-van with 6 guys from the Clemson football team on some road trip. These guys were huge!
They jumped out and had a ball... together lifting our little car and moving it about 8 feet sideways! Then we all went our happy snowbound way.
Talk about an answer?????????????

Here's funny one:
Some of my buddies that live in Houston went to a Astros home game vs. the Braves. Apparently they got pretty wasted before the game and brought a giant banner sign with them that said "ATLATA WHO?" in big letters. From what I heard they were yelling & taunting the opposing team players all game. It wasn't tell after the game someone asked them why they mis-spelled Atlanta like that. I didn't get to see it but they made the local news sports show making fools of themselves. Now it's the running joke between all of us.
 :D

This is from way back when I was a young dumb guy ( hey atleast now I am old:D )
My friend had this old 75 GMC Jimmy that was as ugly as you can imagine. It had a lift kit but only had the stock siz tires, it was Lime Green and had even took on a billboard one night and won, but on to the story. about 5 of us had way too much to drink and were ot running this truck in the mountians, when we made a turn onto a dirt road we had never been on before. The longer we drove on this road the tighter it got but we pushed on, until the road became a trail and then pretty much disappeared. this was in the fall and it was raining, not hard butit was a decent rain, so started down this hill that was covered in wet leaves and mud when we saw there was no where to go so we had to back out. wouldn't you know it when Ron put the Jimmy in reverse and started backing up the hill, the darn 4 wheel drive stopped and we could not get traction on the leaves, so 4 of us got out and tried to push this huge Jimmy back up this hill in the rain, Ron had the thing hammered tring to get it up the hill in 2 wheel drive and we all are pushing from the front bumper when the 4 wheel drive started again and it took off up the hill. Ron had opened his door of the truck to see where he was going and when it took off up the hill he caught a tree square on the end of the door and crushed it back, we had to tie this door shut till we got home and weld the thing shut.

Great stories guys. Now its time for my second one. Its on the same lines as Skinzaholics.......well, kinda...
Back in March of '88 my best friend, Gerald Overton turned 16 on March 3rd. March 7th he goes to get his drivers license. He runs a stop sign and fails. Naturally, when he gets school and tells us we all make fun of him. He's a good natured guy so he laughs as well. March 8th, he goes back and tries again. This time its all good and he has his license.....finally.
March 9th rolls around. Its finally Wednesday and Gerald and I are excited because we have tickets to go watch WWF that night with some other friends. At 2:00 pm I talk to Gerald before I leave school early. Told him to call me when he gets home and I'll come on over.
Then, at 4:00 pm the phone rings. I think its Gerald ready for me to come on over. It wasn't Gerald. It was another friend who told me that there was a very bad accident after school. I asked her who it was. She didn't know the driver but thinks his name is "Jerry Overby". I ask her what kind of car it was and she tells me its a off white Cougar. My heart drops to the floor. I ask her if she's sure its not Gerald Overton? She's not sure. So, I hang up with her and call Geralds mom. She answers the phone crying. I instantly know that it was Gerald. His mom tells me that she just received a phone call from the State police stating that Gerald has been killed in a car wreck.
It seems that his sister-in-law, who is a teacher at the high school, went into labor right as school was letting out. Gerald, being in a hurry to get home, went around a long, drawn out curve between the speeds of 95-110 mph. Top it off, it had just stopped raining. The State Police officer later said that Gerald hydro-planed. He hit a tree about 10 feet off of the ground. His car was split into. They found the rear of the car 40 feet from the front of his car. He didn't have his seat belt on so he was thrown from the car as well. Another friend of ours was on the volunteer fire department. He told me later that Gerald had broken every bone in his body.
Now thats out of the way. Here's the part that gets me every time that I tell this story.
The night they burried my best friend, I was haveing some serious doubts about it there was really a God. I had a hard time coming to grip with the idea that God could take away a person thats as good as Gerald. Gerald wouldn't hurt anyone. He'd go out of his way to make sure everyone was having a good time. Just a great guy.
Well, as I pull up to my house, I stop and cried a little more before going inside. I also asked God for a sign. "If you do exist, show me a sign that'll let me know that you do exist and Gerald is okay." Well, as I walk to my parents house something makes me stop and throw back my head. Thats when I received my sign. I see a shooting star streaking across the sky. And no, it wasn't the typical shooting star that only last for a couple of seconds. It moved slower and lasted what felt like 30 seconds.
Since that moment I've been at peace with the fact that Gerald is gone and he's in a better place.
Word got out of my story and I was asked to share it with two different church groups which Gerald had friends in both. I hope it also brought some relief to Geralds parents.
I never could have imagined the pain that Geralds parents must have went thru until my wife and I had Caleb. I'm not sure I could have went on, or now go on, if anything ever happened to my son.
I hope I didn't bring you guys down. lol. I just wanted to share the story with you guys and that you never know when its the last time you'll be spending with loved ones. Make the most of every second.

Since it doesn't seem like many want to share personal stories on themselves, I'll go again. lol
This is how I met my wife:
Back in '89, North Carolina and South Carolina were hit very hard by a Hurricane. Hurricane Hugo. It was around Sep. 20 or 21. I was working at Hunter Publishing. Its now called Jostens. Anyways, my wifes father had a lot of trees down in his yard and the Grand pas' yard. I told him that I'd be willing to come over and help him to clean things up. That night, he offered to take us all out for dinner. The only place that had power was Pizza Hut. So, we went out to eat and when we got back to her house, we watched a movie. Her younger sister at the time was a cheerleader for the local team. My wife asked if I wanted to go watch her cheer the next day. I said "sure".
7 years later we were married. And now almost 14 years later here we are with a 6 year old, a new house and two pets.....
Tex, be careful what you do during this Hurricane....LOL....you could meet your wife. That is if you're not married now...:D
