alot of teams have ex-skins, but we gotta look up on em to make sure they arent doing good. when i saw the highlight of coles dropping an easy TD, and then thought about moss' 52 yd catch, i think we made a good trade. and while bailey missed a good chunk of game and bell rushed for just 47 yards, i think i like the portis trade.

Chad Morton returned a punt for the Gints, and Pierce had a good game also.

Champ is expected to play next week. It's a game-time decision whether or not Cole's hands will be ready to go.

Coles: 10.6
2005 YPC:
Moss: 24.0
Coles: 11.0

He stayed healthy but was getting used by Stokely who hasn't even been practicing very long due to injury.
Oh yeah and they mocked his TD dance. Gotta love it.

I thoroughly enjoyed the highlights of the Denver-Miami game. First of all, it appears Saban will do a good job. Secondly, as we had suspected, Denver is going downhill. We will beat them later this year, hopefully while Santana is running circles around Champ.

Our offense can uncork on that "D" if he is still out then. He isn't a shut down CB IMO, but he certainly makes the Broncos better.

Just watched the Jets game lowlights, and Coles actually dropped 2 IN A ROW that would have been TDs. One was a perfectly thrown post rout, the other I guess was a fade. He was open, though. On that note, may I wish Coles the very worst, other than further injury, as that apparently is not needed.
Moss=24 ypc. I think Patten will blow up against Dallass.

It'll be very tough to run against their LBers thus the Denver game, just like Dallas, is one that I think the Skins need to get some yards through the air, at least enough to make them back off the LOS. Their CBs are very thin after Bailey and the Skins should be able to use their speed at reciever to exploit them.

Coles in sorry state for first game back
Monday, September 12, 2005
BY STEVE POLITI
Star-Ledger Staff
KANSAS CITY, Mo. -- His first game back in a Jets uniform did not start with a game-breaking touchdown, like Laveranues Coles had hoped it would.
Instead, it started with an apology.
Coles found quarterback Chad Pennington in the locker room after the 27-7 loss to the Chiefs yesterday and accepted the blame for dropping a certain touchdown pass in the third quarter.

And yet, while Bailey returned a pick for a TD(and frankly, Brees hung that one up there so badly that I might have picked it) and Coles had another so-so game, Smoot got destroyed by Chad Johnson today.

What was up with Drew Brees trying to pick on Bailey all day? It was not happening why in the world didn't he check over to Gates or LT? San Diego should be ashamed of how they have under utilized LT in the second half of two straight games and it has cost them both wins. Bailey looked good in the game, his TD was a gift, but kudos.
Coles had a decent stat sheet, the end zone is the key for him. I don't think he's going to dominate many teams all over the field but if he can get in the end zone then he's very dangerous. I'd take that stat line for Moss tomorrow night for sure.
I didn't get to see Smoot personally but I imagine he was decimated. It's hard to imagine anyone in that secondary having a good day, maybe the press can shut the heck up about Minnesota's top flight pair of corners and revamped defense this year. They still look like utter trash, the only difference is that this year they can't score either. The Peter King curse lives.

5 for 68 a TD and a long of 25.
I will take that. That makes him around 13.0 YPC on the season.

And thats a season total of 88 catches for 1072 yards. Thats two less catches for 120 more yards than with the Skins and their terrible passing attack. You can have him for the money you're paying him. For the money Coles is making from the Jets and the Skins, he should be doing much better. McCariens is a star in the making, the Jets should have passed on Coles and gone after a 2nd tier speed guy to go with him. And Ill take Moss for a lot less money.

Hey man did you see those miserable Bears today? Man they are really bad, it's no wonder that the Redskins beat them. Their defense sucks, and their running game seemed nonexistant. Oh wait, that's the Dolphins. Congratulations on beating the worst team in the league that isn't the Vikings.

Don't forget the TD Akh...It counts when the QB and not the RB throws it correct?
Justin McCariens is a 2nd tier receiver without blazing speed.
The Jets made the correct move in obtaining Coles.

So, lets give him 7-9 TDs. So:
88 catches, 1072 yards 7-9 TDs.
Wow, he's worth being paid as the 6-7th higher paid Wideout in the NFL. You guys might have made a good move in trading for him, but you made the wrong move in giving him a new massive contract. For the money he's making, he has to have considerably better numbers. And I would take McCariens over Coles anyday of the week. He doesn't have good speed, but he's a technical wideout with good size and hands.

And Coles caught a nice TD pass on Miami. The Dolphins secondary was awful! Pennington was throwing lollipops and they were leaving guys WIDE open.

True we gave Martin,Pennington and Coles too much money.
Something we have got to cease doing sooner or later.
While Martin has been a great player in the past we would have been much better off being able to cut/trade him and absorb the CAP hit and play a much younger and more explosive Lamont Jordan.

Yeah, but the Fans and NY Media would have savaged the Jets for not doing it, but you're right. Martin looks finished(2.5 per carry?), but Blaylock has talent. Pennington is a talented QB, but he's made of glass. And Coles-throwing away our feelings about him-McCariens is a stud, and you could have gotten a good young wideout(maybe Ronald Curry as part of the Jolley trade) or gone after a guy like Derrick Mason and been able to keep McKenzie or Ferguson.

Moss 72 catches 2002 yards 16 TDs
but it is just two games....

Watch Coles with Vinny.
Love Chad, my favorite Jet ever but he simply wasn't healthy enough to utilize Coles.
The projections of our WR trades should change in a hurry.
Must admit though it appears you guys have the 2003 version of Moss.
When he wants to play he is a game changer.
Last year for whatever reason Moss became soft and took the regular season off.
Good luck in Denver today.....4-0 would be sweet.

Our Defense is great but we shoot ourselves in the foot with fumbles, missed FG's and penalties.
The Bucs may beat us the way we are playing but they are nothing to worry about over the course of a season. In fact we should be able to beat them 9 times out of 10.
