By Pete Prisco, for Sept. 13.
I wouldn't normally post Prisco's trash, but what I found interesting was that the Redskins made basically a quantum leap from #29 to #21 in the rankings. Considering how spiteful Sportsline is of us, and considering how big of an idiot Prisco is, could this be a sign of slightly warmer attitudes from at least one journalist towards the Redskins?
I sure hope so. :)

Prisco may have actually put some effort into the poll. I even agree with his comments on us. I would put Indy at #2 though after their performance against Baltimore. Their double digit win was very impressive and that offense is something special.

most of the power rankings now have us between 21-23.

21-23? To be expected I suppose.
I can't wait to see our jump next week after we whoop up on Dallas...Mmmm.

I'd say that's a fair leap after a win in week 1. I think they have the top 4 teams correct: Patriots, Falcons, Steelers and Colts. They really punished the Rams and Broncos for losing last week 1 (as they should).

We'll be a top 15 team after crushing the Girls. Maybe even higher should we break 40 points.

40 points is pretty optimist with Brunell at the helm? Does our "D" score 21 of them off of 2 picks and and fumble return for TD? And Betts takes one to the house?
That would leave four field goals for the offense. Maybe?

Where was Dallass ranked in this poll? That is the position we should take over after we thump them.

11th. I don't see them giving us 11th. Hell I wouldn't be surprised if they left us where we're at and just moved the Girls down to the 30s.
Ok, fine, they won't do that but I don't think they'd move us above 15ish.

I think that this is a fair assesment of us at this point. If we beat Dallas , I expect a nice jump.
Just a thought, why is Jacksonville so high?

ewwww ahhh ... now they only say the Skins suck ... a little
gee thanks 455 h0|e (wish I had a better arguement ... it would be nice to see a total points scored total over lets say ... 17 ... you know ... for the Skins alone that is)

cuz their front seven is amazing on defense, they have a solid QB and a solid WR even though hes old, but Matt Jones is up and coming so that's ok. Same with Reggie Williams. Jaguars will prob get a wildcard spot along with someone from the east...bufalo or new york.

I hear you, but I was thinking of right this minute they don't strike me as that high. Oh well time will tell.

I found this interesting. Wasn't CBSsportsline the ones who had 90% of "experts" pick the Bears over us? Maybe they think we beat a decent team, we'll never know.
On the other hand, it didn't suprise me at all to see that we didn't move up in the ESPN power rankings. I guess they thought we would beat the Bears by more then we did.
I think its going to be very interesting to see how the Bears do this season. Especially if we end up being good.

out of the 16 teams that won, we are 14th.. only ahead of the Dolphins and 49ers. nothing to write home about.

Wow i looked at FoxSports Power rankings and my lord they had us moving down a spot from 26 to 27. What kind of kool-aid are these guys drinking.

Reality Check…. Our Beloved Team scored ZERO offensive Touchdowns in week 1! A kicker who is now out for the foreseeable future scored our only points. We have released our starting return man. Our Offensive line is getting banged up further and we have only 3 serviceable WRs as of today….
And we are concerned about power rankings!?!?!
When our Beloved Team shows an offensive effort that puts points on the board and the defense dominates a decent offensive team, than we can worry about power rankings..
Just my 2 cents…
(And we are starting a BackUP QB!)
