Bama has a long week ahead of them, trying to scrape what's left of SoCar off their cleats, the win making them 3-0 on the year. This is essentially the same team as last year (only the Oline's not quite as good), when the tide nearly beat auburn, ten, and lsu, despite starting their 3rd string qb. Columbia gets their season started at 7 tonight, taking on Fordham in the boogeydown--probably a loss, as you know. Roll tide! Don't get hurt, Lions!

Bama is my favorite college team. They looked awesome against the Cocks. I think they returned 9 out of 11 starters on defense, and they had the 2nd ranked defense last year. So as long as the Offense keeps putting up points they have a shot at being a contender this year.

I miss the old days when the Tide was just dominant. They definetely gave Auburn a run for their money. Now that most of their probation stuff is behind them, they shoud be among the elites soon.

hot damn! my squads are a collective 8-0. this takes me back to when the skins and the tide both won the title in '92. bama hosts the gators and urban meyer's vaunted spread offense this weekend in a clash of SEC unbeatens. look for bama to play alot of 3-3-5 and blitz off the edges. but while the gator offense against the tide D, both top notch units, will draw most of the attention, the other matchup may well turn out to be the difference maker. i expect croyle, darby, prothro et al. will need to score in the 20s to win, and the gator D will need a great game if they hope to keep this from happening. worst case, but quite plausible, scenario: the tide offense or special teams gives florida a short field and the gators build an early lead. i'm not sure how croyle and co. will hold up under the pressure of playing from behind in such a huge game. my prediction: bama 24, gators 20. the tide D proves to be the difference, making a couple of big plays.

well. it's tough to be happy with that theismanish injury to prothro, nation's best reciever. otherwise, yes. bama's off probation, sec pretenders go back into hiding cause we own this piece like always.

Guess they deleted the thread already. I was also disappointed in the loss of Prothro, he is going to be tough to replace. However, that Keith Brown has got some jets on him as well.

it was a gator fan site, one guy was rejoicing over the injury. to their credit, most of the other uf fans were crawling his a55 for it.
yeah, you hate to lose your best playmaker, i'm confident it won't hurt us too badly, not like if we (skins) lost moss. as you say, brown can fly. so can our 3rd and 4th options--they all have the physical gifts, but just need confidence. most hopeful for me though is the job mike shula's done. it was brightsiding things a bit when i took confidence in his keeping us competitive last season with a 3rd string qb, but after this win, it seems safe to say he's just a damn good coach, and if so, he shouldn't have too much trouble bringing the other wideouts into the fold and better incorporating our talented tightend as well.
it also shouldn't be lost on anyone how many recruits were watching the game. i know for certain that several top prospects were at the game in person. expect to see them in crimson next year.
