Former Dallas Cowboys cornerback Deion Sanders is battling an automotive shop over what he says Jesus told him to pay for a repair bill.

The owner of the repair shop says Sanders wanted to pay only $1,500 of the $4,265.57 bill, saying that Jesus had informed him that was all he needed to pay.

"It's the 'Praise Jesus' discount,'' attorney Ed Edson told The Dallas Morning News in Monday's editions.

Apparently, this (http://espn.go.com/nfl/news/2003/0714/1580339.html#) is not a joke.

LOLOL

Another Sean Gilbert..........I guess the 8 million signing bonus he took from Snyder for one year of worthless play wasn't enough money. If the man is worried over a couple of thousand dollars.

I'll never accept the fact that that dumb ass ever wore the B&G.

I'm glad the article says "Former Dallas Cowboy" rather than the skins. I'd rather not associate Deion w/ our team.

Excellent point benjamce. I didn't even think about that. You're right though. I don't want him ever to be remembered as a former Redskin.

there are always those idiots that use "God" for excuses and put a bad name on the decent Christians of the world.

I hated the guy before, but using the Lord to get out of a bill is unexcusable.

ps- and in truth...the bible says to pay your bills...that's what God says...God doesn't tell you to only pay a certain amount.

I'm going to try this Jesus discount for my mortgage payment. Maybe the bank will let me off paying only a third? I'll just put one of those laminated prayercards in the envelope with the light check and they should get the gist. Thanks for the idea, Primetime!!!!!:wacky:

Deion is ridiculous! The whole thought is insane! I am really begining to believe that Jerry Jones has been supplying "drugs" to his players for years.... with Deion's shenanagins being the latest evidence of an abusive use of banned substances. How long will these cowboy players continue to ruin the pro player image. Damn thses idiots have no personal morals or resposnibility! What A$$h***'s!

you guys have said all that needs to be said. he is a fn joke. jsarno, you are right, the bible says to pay your debts, so he's gonna have to take the rest of the money with the man upstairs.

I saw on another site that Dieon won the lawsuit, judge says Sanders told them there was a 1500 cieling on the bill and they continued past that, if that is true, I almost want to say that is cool. The reason is I have had the same thing happen to me, just not that amount, the garage was too tell me what I did to my car after I fel asleep and hit a 12 inch tall curb about 30 mph, instead of calling me they did the work, all front end work and I got a bill for 600 bucks, but I had to pay it

During the one-day trial, a representative for Sanders testified that he told Compton there was a $1,500 ceiling on the cost of repairs. "I'm not hurting for money. And let's be honest. A $4,000 bill, I could have written a check a long time ago," Sanders said. "But it's the principle. I'm tired of getting ripped off."

I can believe Deion didn't owe the man more than $1500 and mechanics certainly do rip people off. I just loathe these people who justify everything they do by claiming divine inspiration.

It's like Randall Cunningham, who would boast about his close personal relationship with Christ every time he had a good game. I always wanted someone to ask after he had a bad game: "Hey, Randall, was that Jesus intercepting three of your passes today?"

Who are the lawyers here at hR. Is the comment made by the representative about the $1500 binding?

When I hear this horse honkey, I get really peeved. I devote a lot of my time to the church, and have been a christian since 91. I've read the bible backwards and forwards, and no one can tell me that Jesus comes to them in visions to disregard the bible. He's an attention seeker (obviously) and it makes me sick. He gives me a bad name, and I hate that.

That pisses me off too. God has no affect on that crap. They just want to look like good people so they open their pie holes and spew!

My favorite line was he was tired of being ripped off. He's been ripping teams off for years especially us. What was the contract 56 mil for a guy who couldn't defend my little sister let alone a reciever
