View Full Version : Taylor Jacobs Back! Well, for a Little Bit At Least...

I noticed that Taylor Jacobs came back and was used to stretch the field. It was good to see him back and playing. He showed really good acceleration on a long pass attempt (into triple coverage) before the first Santana Moss TD.
Then, almost predictably, he got hurt on the long KO return by Dallass after the second score. He walked off under his own power, so that was good.
Anybody know what his status was/is?

That was a weird injury, he was on the ground for several minutes but then got up and walked off without even a limp or anything. I hope it's not serious.

Maybe his wind?! He doesn't need to be on Special teams w/ his medical history. Mind Boggling.

I thought I saw Bubba Tyer come out to tend to him. I hope he just got the wind knocked out of him. Maybe he had a "guy" injury, lol.

Maybe he was the designated guy to fake it so the defense could get an extra breath or two...lol

I remember thinking "Get up! The Dallass offense is getting extra time to game plan!" Who knows, maybe it was actually better for our defense.

Couldn't agree more!! What the hell is Danny Smith thinking???? Okay, it gives Jacobs involvement, but that's not the involvement I want to see. I was thrilled to see him get a catch, but when he went down on special teams, all I could think was, -- hey, dudes, we've only got 4 wideouts! Activate Broughton on teams and give poor Taylor a break. Not a literal break, mind you...
Anybody else think, um, maybe we need an extra WR down the stretch? Yippers...

I like Rich Parsons on our PS. With the bye week, maybe its time to look at another team's practice squad. Isn't Roscoe Crosby on a PS somewhere? A little size never hurt at WR in the red zone.

No way. I have a feeling this guy is goign to contribute. So far it may seem that way, but I have faith that TJ will makes some key plays and earn his stripes.

I agree, Burgundy. Time to take a deep scan of the PS list and bring somebody in. Keep Novak, but let Koz go and add a bit of depth. Parsons may be the answer for kicks. I have such mixed emotions now on returns: part of me LOVES the security of Thrash and (until last night) Betts. But the other meditates on how we've lost the threat of a gamebreaking threat. We need somebody like Dallas has -- a pinch runner we bring in for pure speed, speed, speed. He just needs to be reliable... (and BTW you can send me a Super Model hottie who is loyal and doesn't need money to be happy).
Now as a receiver, I believe in Jacobs. Especially because Gibbs does. If he can just stay healthy (and off teams, where he might be killed), I think he makes us that much more complete.

You forgot "doesn't speak English and has a bad sense of direction." ;)

I agree. This is a make or break season for him. Luckily, he has the bye week to get healthy (again).

My first thought when I saw him lying there was: Get the hell off the ground and get back in there!
I guess I've run out of patience with the guy.

He'll pull a hamstring earning his stripes.

Gibbs just said in his Monday PC that Taylor Jacobs just got his bell rung. That is good news for Week 4.

Taylor's had some bad luck...I think he can become a good player for us. Remember Betts had a lot of injuries the first couple of years...things happen. TJ is on ST because he's a good ST player...did well for us last year in that roll @ the end of the season.

It looked like stinger to me...considering how long he was on the ground and how he got up and looked fine.
