I'll go ahead and start this discussion myself.
We've talked about our emotional and improbable win in Dallas a lot, but what happened in the Bears game has kinda been lost in the shuffle. The way the 12th man rose up and lifted us to victory, IMO, was just as important and uplifting as what happened in Dallas as a win is a win after all. But it makes me wonder if maybe this season has something special going on? Two close games, two special outcomes. I wonder what will put us over the top against the Seahawk? If we get three in a row we're going to have a LOT to talk about. When you ponder this point, think about some of the other memorable seasons and some of the fortunate twists and turns and emotions. I think, for example, about the seat cushions against the Falcons or the Body Bag Game.
Waddya think?

Since Gibbs came back, our home crowd has been outstanding. This was very evident at the Tampa Bay game last year. Gruden's comments after the game were classic. Superskin and all the guys did a great job. Seattle is a game we must win to sustain the momentum and really prove to the world we are for real. Must win those home games. Especially the home nfc games.
HAIL TO THE REDSKINS!!!

My hope is that the showing of the 12th Man against the Bears combined with the unbelievable win over the Girls will equal absolute pandomonium at FedEx when the Seahawks come to town. If FedEx is ever going to be RFK Part 2, this is the game for it to begin. The Seahawks do not have a large fanbase on the east coast, so there shouldn't be many intruders, and with what happened on Monday night, people should be ready to get fired up about our team.
I hope to see every single seat filled before the opening kickoff and before the second half kickoff. And I want to hear that place roaring...

I love Superskin, and I think he does a great job firing up the fans...
BUT
I think everyone of us and all good fans everywhere should feel like we are "leaders of the 12th man". My section (439) had lots of quiet people that I think were annoyed by my yelling, chair banging, dancing, high fiving, hugging, head butting antics... but you know what, many of them came around towards the end of the game... Some because they were drunk, but other because of one of my golden rules:
Attitudes are contagious. Is yours worth catching?
We all have to do everything we can to get behind this team. While I think we are playoff caliber, I also think we are going to be in a lot of close games. Fans shouldn't wait for a reason to cheer... They should cheer from the get-go darnit! Start chants, make friends, high five strangers, smile and fun at games so that the attitude spreads.
To me we all have a responsibility to get the energy going at FedEx. If we do that, the character wins like the ones BW mentioned will happen.

Couln't have said it better myself.
The difference between be a "spectator" and a "participant" is the former reacts and the latter effects. It is our obligation as the 12th Man to effect the outcome of the game to our advantage.

I agree. There are still plenty of lazy fans in that stadium that need to be reminded of the difference between seeing a game live and watching it from their living room. I told the story last year of a "fan" telling me to sit down at the Tampa game when I dared to stand up on the first play of the game...first play of the first regular season game with Gibbs back, and this fatarse couldn't be bothered to get excited.
But I've definitely seen lots of improvement, and that moment in the Bears game was triumphant. I see the Seahawks game as a huge, HUGE statement from the crowd.

im as happy as the next guy about our two wins, but i think we should stop thinking that this means our season will be special or a miracle or something. im afraid everyone is gonna jinx this. we should just think about this type of stuff to ourselves, or until we win like 3 or 4 in a row.

I'm kinda worried about the jinx too. After all, we started 7-0 not too long ago and [gulp] missed the playoffs. Let's just take it one game at a time folks.

As a superstitious type of person, I can relate to your point. I would counter with this... Nobody should get carried away, but everyone should take to heart the role of a fan at a home game. While I think we can be a very special team THIS YEAR, I also know that we are in for a dog fight every week. Hey, look at last year.... Just about every game was close and with a better fan base, maybe we win one or two of them.

Well I promise to lose my voice at every game I attend, and yell at my TV for every game I'm not.......the rest is up to them!

I'm expecting a huge response when the team takes the field in 2 weeks. I'm going to be going nuts, that's for damn sure. They need to hear my appreciation!

The WINNING this team's doing will only make the stadium more pumped up in anticipation, and i fully expect the same INSANE volume level, if not more, as Opening Day - on not only Oct. 2nd, but for ALL our home games---While we can't convince EVERYONE to lose their voices, keep on trying like Smoak said, to let your decibels-not-known-to-mankind-cheering and ATTITUDE show others the way!
