A buddy of mine told me about this and I thought some of you would be interested...
Patrick Ramsey will be doing a signing at the Gaithersburg Holiday Inn this Sunday from 12:00 - 1:00. Apparently signings are $25 - $30, depending on what you get signed.
I'm contemplating getting my Ramsey jersey early so I can get it signed....

Good deal for you local guys. I don't know about paying for a autograph......but, its not a bad way to get a small touch of Redskins football.

Dammit you lucky bastards...the only signature I can get is Roger Staubach. He will be here for a charity flag football game. Of course I refuse to go.

I never understood charging a premium amount for autographs..especially from players who haven't done shit yet!
I hate to hear stuff like this
How about sign things for free instead of making even MORE money.

Patrick Ramsey strikes me as the type of guy who WOULD sign autographs for free if you happened to see him out/about town. And I'm also positive that if you got the chance to squeeze through a crowd of 100 people at training camp this year, he would oblige a signature or two.
However, even in the "training camp" situation I described above, you are never guarnateed to get a chance to see him.
At events like the one this Sunday, you ARE guaranteed to get his autograph...but even better, you are given the chance to shake his hand and/or get a picture taken. To me...it is worth it.

If you have something good to get signed, like a helmet or authentic jersey I guess its worth it, but not for an 8 X10 or just a card...

Well, I just went out to the Redskins Store at the Mall and got myself a Ramsey Jersey. Can't wait to get that sucker signed!
I'm thinking something along the lines of:
Dear Mark,
Thank you for teaching me the proper techniques of the "bomb". I will be able to utilize this a lot while throwing to Coles.
Your closest friend,
Patrick Ramsey.
(how does that sound?) :D

I hope the majority goes to charity as well.

I can pretty much guarantee you that 100% will NOT go to charity.
This signing takes place at a trading card show, so Ramsey probably gets half and the card show promoters probably get the other half.

HOLY STINKIN DOG POO! They probably get half???? He'll probably sign 1000 autographes...maybe more. At $30 a pop, that's $30,000!!!! Half would be 15k...I need to be a promoter!!!! I could make my yearly salary in only two signings!
