We all are and we always will be. Fact is, we are a society of does what feels best. Well, have you ever tased some of those "healthy" burgers...GROSS! We love the taste of our artery cloggers!
I find it funny that cigarettes are still legal, but now they are attacking fatty foods.

I am right now trying to eliminate burgers from my diet for the last 3 weeks and I can see a huge difference. I am a big guy and I love my burgers and fries but I have decided no more and in 3 weeks I have lost 15 pounds by eating more chicken and fruits. I guess my poiint is, I know what these burgers can do and hopefully can stay away from them. Yea I know who wants to hear about my diet...sorry but I am happy

My Grandmother lived to the age of 92, my Father to the age of 94, and they both said: "everything in moderation"...........Lesson to be learned.

GOOD FOR YOU! It's tough to lose weight! At this time last year I was 285...now I'm 200. I actually got down to 185...but my appettite has come back with a vengence, so after I get back from Boston I'm starting the adkins diet!
A treadmill helped me the most!

jsarno, that is awesome I hope I can have the same results as you did, I am not doing any special diet, just watching my calories and fat grams and getting rid of sodas, that are not diet and burgers and fries

I find that coca-cola is my downfall. They say that the sugar in cokes are what leads to most people's obesity. If I could get rid of that I just may live another 10 years...

my theory on coke is this, if it can clean your battery terminals what does it do to your insides:confused:

I was a big Mountian Dew drinker so I am giving up my ability to stay awake also:D

The biggest thing I stopped from diet is the kool-aid. I'm not much of a carbonated beverage guy, so Kool-Aid was my vice. I have not had a glass of kool-aid in a year. In fact, I drink that kool-aid that is sugar free and caffeine free now...it has done wonders.

Small things can really make a big difference.

I'm dieting it too...and it sucks.

I've cut out beer and junk food during the weekdays, and it seems to help.

The problem is that I'm a sucker for Ribs and pizza...:danger:

Twice now I have made sure I had enough Calories for 2 pieces of pizza, as that might be the hardest to give up for me :D

I'll eat what I want...then run / jog / walk 3+ miles on the treadmill
Must build up a good lather to ensure the bad has come out!!! :D

I think this adkins diet is the way to go for me. My problem is that my appittite is HUGE. With the Adkins, youcan eat as much as you want as long as it has no carbs!

I tried Adkins once...and lost about 10 lbs in a single week. It can be a dangerous diet if you are not carefull, though.

The worst part about Adkins is the fact that you CRAVE bread products like crazy. Bread, breadsticks, pitas..etc. 'It literally hurts!

I wondered if Dr. Adkins dying from slipping on the ice was a conspiracy to hide the fact that he really died from heart failure...

Why do you think it's dangerous?

I figured i'd crave it...but nothing tastes as good as being thin feels...so i think I can handle it.

It's a diet Dr. Adkins came up with that has you eating protien instead of carbohydrates. It gets you into ketosis which basically reverses your normal body function to break down fats and sugars, and uses all the fats in your body as fuel and you melt the fat away. You completely drop carbs for the first 3 weeks or so (I haven't bought the book yet, so I don't know the exacts, just approx.) then you slowly introduce carbs back into your diet. When you're in ketosis the fat melts away. I've seen people drop 5-10 inches in a matter of a couple months. This diet works...the biggest concerns is dropping the carbs in your diet...and there is some concern about kidney problems. But they haven't had problems yet.

Carbs, apparently, contain substances that break down toxins in the body. When no carbs are present, these toxins can build up to lethal levels and possibly kill you.

A friend of a co-worker died this way. Its important to use suppliments while on this diet...as your body will not be accustomed to the dramatic changes.

I did not know that...thanks for telling me...I was going to bypass the suppliments, but I know I shouldn't now.
