It looked like he had extra padding in the Seattle game, and Gibbs aluded to it in one of his press conferences....said it affected him a bit and hoped it would be better this week.
I'm with you Joe, we need a healthy Taylor back their for the intimidation factor if nothing else.

Taylor (IMO) is the single most important player on the defense. He allows GW to freelance with those exotic blitz packages, supports the run defense, and covers about as well as any safety (sure guys like Dawkins and Reed are better but).

This is definetely very good news. He is the one defensive player we really need against Denver and the offense they run. I don't think Sean has reached his peak yet this season, but like alot of our players plays with great heart and drive. It's kind of funny how we worried about him all offseason. Can't wait to see him out there Sunday.

Definetly a good thing to have ST ready to go against the Broncos.

Good we are going to need him to force some sort of turnover and let the other defensive guys not worry about the deep ball too much.

padding aside, he'll have to hit with the other shoulder for now. no amount of padding will compensate for the way he hits. the problem might be more in range of movement for his arm, which might limit tackling and pass defending. also, maybe we wont see him at receiver until it's healed.

Does anyone know what the nature of the shoulder injury is? Bruise, rotator cuff, etc?
Luckily bowen and clark are healthy.

I don't like this injury at all. I went back and watched the game tape, and he was in pain the whole game. He wasn't himself. He looked like he was gutting it out, and because he's so talented, his performance was more than acceptable. But the fact that ST, who is the type of player who would never come out of a game unless he was REALLY hurt, had to leave the game . . . it makes me worry.
It sounds like a seperated shoulder to me, which, I guess is not too bad. Dislocations and obviously torn Rotator cuffs, labrums, etc. are worse, but anyone who has had to hit(or be hit) with even just a grade 1 seperation knows it isn't fun AT ALL. We'll see.

Man right after the buy week too. I feel like we should limit his play to 3rd downs, I don't want to see that get any worse and we've good some bone-crushing safeties in Clark and Bowen, and I think Priealeu? is gonna be back this week too, and I like what I've seen out of that guy. Keep in mind GW doesn't use a FS/SS system, it's just two safeties out there.

Sean Taylor is a beast and he will see himself through this. Like someone else said earlier, he just needs to try and hit with the other shoulder. Maybe we can rest him during a game (San Fran) or just use him on limited downs. Just a thought, because we definitely need him healthy down towards the end of the stretch.
