Bailey was out of Denver's game last week. Is he expected to play this week against our beloved Skins and if he does will he be 100%?
* I would love to see him get leveled by Clinton Portis. :lol1:

Ain't no way he doesn't play. Fine by me, he can't deal with speed wideouts, ask Kennison and Porter and Toomer, James McKnight, Marty Booker...Chris Chambers....

He is listed as questionable. And Shannahan said he isnt sure if he will play this week.
In other words if he plays Moss will have a field day since Bailey wont be 100% and wont be able to keep up with moss.

Don't forget Chad Johnson, the guy lit him up last year.
He'll play.
And we'll own him all day.

I remember hearing him say this preseason that he wanted to play more physical, and be more than just a cover corner. I guess that is not working out so well, since this is the second injury he has had in 4 games...

I'd be shocked if Bailey doesn't play. If he does, as I expect him to, the Broncos might play a lot of zone to cover up for their injured secondary. We'll see.

Zone coverage would be good for us. Deep streaks down the field, and hard running.

"Marcus Robinson...had nine catches for 161 yards and two second-half touchdown catches from McNown of 30 and 52 yards, both against Redskins first-round pick Champ Bailey."

Wish I had video of the 52 yarder...Marcus Robinson completely took off on him after making the catch.

What??? Roland will not cover Cooley. Ever. If by some stroke of scheme he did cover Cooley, he would have no problem doing so. Tackling Cooley on the other hand might not be in Roland's best interest.

All right, lol...
In Denver, everyone loves Champ, even when he gets burnt...He's probably the best corner the Broncos have had...
I bet it's the contract thing he had with the FO before he got traded to Denver...We're, for the most part, the same with Portis. I suppose neither deserves much fan loyalty from their former fans. Portis bad mouthed Shanny and Denver when he left town too...

He never really talked to the media when he was in DC so I dont really know his personality too much. The last game that I watched though was when the B-roncs' (thats what my bronco fan friend calls them) played the Bengals and he got beat twice at least to Chad Johnson. Of course Chad is one of the best recievers in the league so its not too bad.

Towards the end we did. All of a sudden, he starts talking about his contract demands and then when he was given a more than fair contract -- top paid corner I think -- it wasn't good enough. At that point, we were done with him. But it got really bad once he got to Denver. His gums have not stopped flapping since he got off the plane. Far too much of it has been about DC, the team, the owner, whatever. It's a shock to say, but Roland could take a few lessons from CP on how to be classy in your new place about your old place.

Some people would say he's gaining legendary status in Denver for his ability to play through some pretty serious injuries, and playing well with those injuries...
I'm glad Denver's got a CB like Bailey though, certainly more so than if Denver still had Portis.

Champ is a good Cb, maybe a very good Cb. He is great against big wideouts and wideouts who just run perfect patterns as their bread and butter. However, he has major problems with speed wideouts and often disappears against top competition. He never had an INT against a team that made the playoffs the year he played them, 25% of his INTs were off of Jake Plummer(which explains the move to me frankly). He's not worth the price y'all paid for him-both in contract and Portis. Shawn Springs was as good last year-probably better-than Champ and he was half Champ's price.

Nobody said that Roland couldn't play or that he wouldn't play through pain. He's a quality player and a top 5 CB. That said, we feel we also have a top 5 CB in Springs, so we're just as happy with the trade as you are.

I don't think he will. He has been much more subdued out here. Gibbs is installing a "team" attitude here and Portis has bought into it hook, line and sinker. Everyone has, really. Being 3-0 doesn't hurt the old credibility either.

portis brought it out against the giants last year though.
i think we need to be a little honest here guys. I know i was a champ fan when he was here, not so much his final year, but years before. he never got many picks, but he shut down the wide reciever to like 3-4 catches every game. he would give up a couple long ones, but who doesnt? the thing that made me pissed was the last couple games of his career here. he seemed to give up. i remember against philly, he had a wide open tackle against buckhalter, and he just let him in the endzone like he was a matador and buck was a bull. then, when u throw in all the verbal attacks he said about us, it just made it worse. im fine though, our d is playing better without him, and we got a top 5 rb too. both teams got a good deal

He actually has been injured a lot, the difference being he comes back in afterwards. He missed some of the 4th quarter vs Seattle, yet Holmgren didn't bother throwing it at his replacement much.

All right, all right, you got me...
But I'd much rather have "Roland" and his picks than Portis and his 5 rushing TD's...Denver had 13 rushing TD's in 2004 too, with Reuben fricken Droughns and Tatum Bell. Heck, T Bell had more than half of CP's TD total in 300 less carries...
Sure he got burnt in a few games last year, but he's been lights out this year. He's much more important to Denver than a RB. As you all know, Denver cranks out the RB's left and right, so Portis was expendable, frankly.

We could not afford the 50+ million dollars that Mr. Bailey requested two seasons ago - so he left. He didn't want to stay regardless of the salary!
Mr Bailey then bad mouthed the Redskins, after his departure, even though the management has just offered him $45 mill to stay. That lost all my respect, besides his lackadaisical play the last season.
Since his departure the 'skins were #3 in the NFL in defense last season and currently are #3 in defense now. Mr Bailey IS NOT MISSED HERE and went on to sock Denver for a huge fortune as a so-called "shutdown corner". I predict with his injuries he can not stay in Denver long-term, due to his massive salary impact [a la LaVar Arrington]. The Washington Redskins have built a hard-hitting and stingy defensive system using no name players who come to play and don't cost a mint. The money for this current Redskins defense came from what we would have paid Bailey. So - thank you for leaving, Mr Bailey.
Mr Bailey - you are dead to me. I hope we burn your highly over-rated butt for a couple long TDs this game....................................

Maybe, maybe not. No other Denver rb has been as successful as Portis since leaving the "system". Droughns can't hold down the starter's job in Cleveland and Olandis Gary and the others who have left have done squat. Portis had 1300+ yards last year, he's on pace for 1400-1500 yards this year. He's an extremely talented RB. We'll take him. You can have Champ and twice his value and we'll take Shawn Springs.
