Maybe I am smoking too much crack but didn't Norval have a 7-0 team that failed to reach the playoffs?
I keep hearing "last time we were 3-0 we went to the super bowl" like it means something today. ugh.

No. In 1996 Norv Turner won 7 games in a row, but lost the season opener. In 1997 he won three of the first four, and in 1999, he won three of the first four, losign the opener.

We started 0-1 then he won 7 in a row to go to 7-1, but when we finished we didnt even make the playoffs!

Besides, Turner's teams are famous for collapsing during the season and even during games. Gibb's teams usually get better as the season goes on.

Let's not forget the 6-2 2000 redskins that collapsed to 8-8 costing Norv his job, finally.

These years are the ones we all forget, but are the reason that we have been the butts of all our friends jokes and jabs for the past 10+ years. I personally don't remember, but I'm sure we were all running our mouths during these great starts, only the have the bottom pulled out from under us and be thrust into public ridicule.
Oh the nightmares of years past. Football gods, we need and deserve a good 2005.

It's good to not jump the gun on our fast start. There will probably be challenges ahead.
But Joe Gibbs ain't no Norv Turner, that much I can guarantee, and I'm feeling good about our season so far.

I believe it was norv that instituted that losing mentality in Redskin Park....Maybe he was a Dallas Mole or something.....That's why he got what he deserved...Danny leaving him at the stadium and saying "wait here, I'll be back" to only go out for dinner to never come back. Then firing him the same Day!!! I thought that was the funniest thing ever!!!!...and we owe him a nice butt kicking for that!!!!
Please don't get me started on that subject...I'll get pissed again. 7 years, 1 playoff birth Westbrook, Shuler, Sterling Palmer ARGH!!!!!!!

This is the most accurate assesment regarding Turner and Gibbs. Gibbs may take a bit to get going, but keeps going and gets better. Sometimes, Turner never gets going at all.

I don't think it was funny at all. Actually, at the time, I thought it was awful.

I don't care at all for Norv, but I hated Danny back then. I didn't like how he came in and fired a bunch of long time Redskins employees either.

Norv's teams are all the same:
Lots of penalties
Undisciplined
Lose the important games
Lose the close ones
I can't believe he was head coach here for 7 seasons. I'd like to erase those memory banks.
