A lot has been said about us going to the super bowl last time we started out 3 and 0. Back then we had the largest and highest paid coaching staff. i remember reading an article about it. it said that we had 3 assistant coaches who were making more money than some head coaches in the league. i think they were Petitbone (defense), Bugel (o-line) and Rodriguez (special teams coach), but i'm not sure about that). i think that trend is true now. can anyone think of a better, bigger, or higher paid coaching staff? i cant. we have over-qualified guys at lots of spots, and a great mixture of age and experience. the only thing i can think of that is missing is Bobby Beathard.
Look at this list:

I think they are a decent bunch. Experience does not always equate to be any good. Rich Kotite anyone?

They definitely have the experience. I think it's a little early to say if they're the best on offense, but they're definitely looking better.

I'll take our staff over any other in the league.

but there' a good mix here, with Byner, Musgrave, and Gibbs' son maybe working his way up into the ranks. i think Stan Hixon is fairly young. i dont know about DeWayne Walker and Steve Jackson, but it's cool to have 2 defensive backfield coaches. and it's cool to have 3 strength/conditioning coaches. the list doesnt even mention the trainer.

The one coach i'd like to see a change in would be special teams. We may have good kickers but we suck at the other areas. Such as kick returns and punt returns. I am happy to see the penalties seem to be decreasing on returns.

we're getting better on offense. Musgrave might have had a good influence with his past affilliation with Brunell and with Brunell's efficiency in the shotgun. i like Byner.

on special teams we've gotten better on coverage, but it seems we do absolutely nothing on returns except run straight ahead and get tackled. i keep hoping maybe someone will swerve to the outside once in a while, but they seem intent on running into a wall every time.

I wish the coaches would find a better way to run Portis. His average between the Tackles can't be good. Are these just setup plays to keep the Defences guessing or what? I say run him outside the Tackles a little more on the short yardage sittuations. What your oppinions?:eaglesuk:

I like our coaching staff. Wouldn't want anybody else. I like the playcalling on both sides of the ball. Good balance. Seeing more discipline, less mistakes.

something, anything. sometimes when i look at the defensive alignment i am thinking "portis could get outside on this one" but then he slams into the middle anyway. all he needs is a good block from a wideout, but that might not be an option with little receivers.

the other day i was watching the Falcons and they went on and on about the o-line coach Gibbs coming from Denver to coach the offensive line with the stretch zone blocking plays and the quicker, more athletic linemen, and they lead the league in rushing (partly due to Vick)...but daggone does that little Warrick Dunn get off in that system. i kept thinking "that's how Portis looked in Denver." why dont we just watch what they do and copy it for Portis? when they want to pound it up the middle they have Duckett.

I agree, but I think we should run him outside the tackles more in general, be it short yardage or 1st and 10.

at least there's no salary cap on the coaching staff, a fact that obviously has not escaped Snyder. i just hope he pays Williams to stay.

.....only time will tell. Let's revisit this topic, at playoff time.

Maybe the best D staff in the league. We have the best O staff in the 80s and 90s but not now.

There not the best in the league until they make the team the best in the league, period.
