I am. Since the Bears game, I've flown my car flags every day to and from work. I'm scared to death to stop doing that for lest I jinx the team. I'm wearing the same jersey for all 3 games. Same hat. Same tailgate menu. You get the point....

Anyone else care to fess up any superstitions?

We've been eating lobster, king crab legs and shrimp every dinner before a game. My wife is loving it but it is getting expensive. Oh well, the sacrifices I make for my team. :)

Are you sitting very close to the TV?

The football gods tell me what is off-limits, and I avoid those sins.

It's awful scary though. I'm not used to every game going down to the wire.

well, during redskins games, i always seem to end up close to the tv, so i dont think thats the superstition :)

Actually I bought a personalized cooley jersey because they dont sell them in white. I bought it after preseason and have worn it to all the games (or watching TV). The funny part is though it got hot during the seahawks game so I took it off when they were ahead by a lot. I left it off for awhile but as soon as brunell threw that INT I quickly put it back on and you know the rest.:)

You are not allowed to take off that jersey during a game. Ever.

Not too much of a superstitious kind of person. With that being said, whatever you guys have been regulary doing these first 3 games continue doing it until/if we lose. Certainly can't hurt anything.

I lost my favorite Skins shit-the one I wore every game last season- and I stopped looking for it. My experience this season has been crazy. I watched all the Cowboys game in my friends basement, where we watch every Skins game. But halfway through the 4th quarter, I stood up, walked to the door, and said "sorry guys, we're just never gonna beat dallas as long as the three of us are in this room together." I left, and we had met back up about 5 seconds after the game and partied far too late into the night. So now, we don't watch games at his house anymore at all, and if we're losing, we will go our separate ways until the we get back on track. So to answer your question, yes, a little.

My wife predicts the outcome of the game. Each week she says they are going to win by x number of points. and each game she's been right or off by one point. She told me this week they are going to win but not the number of points yet....

I have sharpened a #2 redskins logo pencil before each game and written or drawn something with it. I think I've worn something different every week (91 skins SB tee, redskins reebok T, etc.) so it's not the clothes, and I havent worn my Ramsey jersey even though it's the only one I own. Man I just gotta get Portis for christmas.....:lol1: .

I've worn my jersey, I switch between my personalized one and my Arrington one. I HAVE to wear my jersey all day long. Now my job(s) won't permit me to do so, so on the back of my chair I have my jersey hanging and as soon as I walk out the door, it goes on, over whatever I am wearing (last week it was a bulky sweater... its been interesting. I haven't ventured onto hR during any of the games when they were actually playing (half time once... but other then that nothing). I love you guys to death... but the trend is going to continue this week, and we'll take it from there.

I wouldnt say im overly superstitious but here are my habits...Huge gameday foods, usually Italian Sausages and Burgers or Steak/Shrimp, Hot wings and Cheesesticks/Tater tots..the night before I sleep in my Burgandy Mesh shorts I picked up at the Bears game. The BOSS HOG Jersey goes on over a plain white t shirt. then I confiscate the best seat in the house. I refuse to get up during the actual game(only commercial breaks). So since I made all the food the wifey is nice enough to bring me beers. I used to wear only the Black script R hat that gibbs wore last year, but at the bears game I saw he switched to burgandy so i bought one of those to. So now when the O is on the field my Burgandy/Gibbs hat goes on and on D my Black/GW hat goes on. I also refuse to drink the last sip of the beer in my hand when we score(im afraid ill drink away the lucky nector of the sports gods). However when we get scored on I must drink that beer gone right away(also helps with the pain). With My BOSS HOG jersey we are 4-0 I also wore it during the preseason pitt game. Also since ive started the Burgandy/Black hat thing the O has been really coming through. I dont know if we are voting on the weirdest or most superstious but Ill cast a vote for myself.

Solid color Burgundy does it for me :) When I put "a" players jersey on, the last three times, they have gotten injured over a 4 year span, so I wear solid color tee's or sweatshirts.

As for the Official Game Thread, I have shown up whenever, but I find myself being there for defensive stands a lot! (with us on top too!)

I wear my Portis jersey and play a game of Madden the night before against whatever team we are playing. Last time against the Seahawks I was down early 17-0 and I was terrified that I was about to jinx the team but I turned it around and won 45-17.

I got a pair of Redskins socks sometime last week and after the win against Seattle I kept saying "It was the socks" "It was the socks". So now I am trying to figure out if I am going to wash them or not.

I couldn't agree more. I hated that thing from the get-go, but I was going to break down and buy one this year with the thought being that "if it is good enough for Gibbs".

I don't consider myself "superstitous", but most people would... I pay attention to what I call "trends". If the team is playing great when I wear a particular jersey/hat/tee/etc., I'll know it. Sometimes I won't wear the "lucky" article in question until a big game because no matter how long the trend (or luck) is going, it can't go forever...

I can say this. I will NOT watch a game in my upstairs bedroom for awhile. Similar to everyone's story, I was watch the MNF game and we looked putrid. I went downstairs because I was fuming and didn't want to annoy my wife... After internally raving in the dark for a few minutes I turned on the downstairs TV to see Brunell get sacked... ARGH!!!!! Then all of a sudden, all the momentum changed. After the second TD I was running around screaming "we took the lead, we took the lead" and I went upstairs... BAM, the cowboys get a big kick return, and I ran downstairs to be away from the bedroom TV.

So I notice "trends"... but I don't consider myself superstitous... :D

Very interesting. I've got a similar story.
I got this 3 X Super Bowl Champion Ball Cap right before the season started.
I wore it during the Bears game.
During the Dallas game I put it on with 10 Min left in the game.
I wore it during the Seahawks game but turned it around during our last 4th qtr. drive. After the interception I quickly turned it back around.
I think I'll be wearing it straight from now on during our games.

I have to listen to big plays. I can't watch them. I have to stand around the corner from the room my TV is in and listen. If I watch, we NEVER get it done. And I made my brother-in-law stand in my kitchen and watch because they scored thier first TD when he was getting a drink.........Nah...I'm not superstitious.....just..... cautious of angering the FOOTBALL GODS!!

I do something very similar also. I always play a game of madden the night before or day of the game (just depends if I am going to the game or not). Of course I'm playing against our upcoming opponent. Then the day of the game I always put my daughters jersey on her first thing in the morning and she wears it all day. If it is a late game (Dallas for instance), then she will go to sleep in it. I don't get up or do anything during the game, except get more brew or bathroom breaks (during commercials only). We truly are the 12th man of this team! I wonder what kinda of little things the players do before games? I remeber when I played B-ball (still do), I had a certain pair of socks that I would put on and I would lace up my shoes a certain way.

I've read a lot of interesting post on this thread, but this has to be the craziest and most detailed by far.

hahah yea, i do the madden thing too.....i already played the game against the broncos and had a lot of fun beating Chump to the tune of 200 yds and 3 TDs with Santana!! and CP got some revenge too, he ran for 100+ and scored a couple of times. :awesomewo

I also have this really old Redskins trucker hat that has a feather sewn on to the side of it that i got for like $3 at a thrift store. I pretty much wear that around town from the time i get off friday afternoon until sunday night.

Well somebody played the Broncos against me on xbox live last night. He scored, I scored, he scored I scored, he scored I scored... 21-21. Toward the end of the 4th quarter he forces me to punt. Fumbles the catch, Walt Harris picks it up....I run the clock down and kick the field goal. He then muffs the kickoff, I run it in from the one with one second left. Final score 31-21. Closer than the score would indicate. Let's keep our fingers crossed....
