All I want to know is:

The Phillipines? Boy there are no superpowers left in the world if the Phillipines is the one we catch spying in the White House.

The Israelis were always extremely successful spying in Arab countries by claiming that they were Americans.

I'm sure they wouldn't have gotten the goods by admitting they were Israelis, lol. That'd be like an American spy going into Moscow in 1963 and declaring that they were American.

Great question. Life in prison is the maximum sentence, I believe. Treason, however, could result in the firing squad, although I don't think that's been done in a LONG time.

EDIT: Apparently, the maximum penalty for treason is life in prison as well. Changed in 1998.

It just adds to my complaint that the process to receive a top secret clearance is not strenuous enough. That's what happens when the folks doing the investigating are underpaid and pushed to complete as many cases as possible. I know, I was one.
