Steve Atwater will be inducted into Ring of Honor on Sunday at halftime against the Skins. Someone help with the link.
This is starting to sound like a good omen for the Skins. If we win I guarantee not one more ceremony on our schedule. lol.

Great Job CowboyKilla!!!
This is good news...the seperation between winners and losers in the NFL is so small that any sort of edge can be the difference in a given week. I hope this can serve as bulletin board material for this week, showing we still lack respect around the league. Put that enormous chip on your shoulder, walk into Mile High, and come away with the "W" fellas!! Then let the media figure out another reason why we don't deserve to be 4-0.

I thought that I read over at the Orange Mane that it was Atwater and Terrell Davis going into the ring of fame this weekend.

The more the merrier. If they go up to the booth at half time to talk about how great they were like the 'Girls did........ It;s in the bag!

For some reason I think this might be the toughest game this year... We must find a way to match the intesity out of the gate and take the crowd out of it. Portis scoring a couple times would help with that. For me, I am challenging Portis to show me he is an elite back, b/c frankly I think he has been more "talk" than "walk". He need to carry this team on his back Sunday.

I don't think the blame can be put solely on Portis. The OL has been good against the pass rush, but not so good in run blocking. As soon as he gets the ball, he usually has someone in his face. He simply hasn't had much running room yet, hopefully that changes this week.

I agree, but but elite backs make plays in the clutch. Right now, Portis has only had a couple of those "carry the team on his back" games and none this year. Top that off with the fact that he has had a couple plays that either cost us a game or nearly cost us a game, and I just worry... Don't get me wrong, I absolutely love the guy, and want him to end his career as a Redskin after breaking all the team records, but this is a game where I feel he needs to stop talking and go out and play. He needs to destroy the Broncos somehow.

Portis needs to have a big game but this will be quite a challenge.
Seriously, if we win not one more ceremony on our schedule, for sure.

If Terrell is included in the ceremony that makes a win That Much Bigger.

Why is everyone making us their homecoming game??? I really hope the team comes out and fights hard win or lose. This darn team better not roll over for anyone!

Those 120-140 he had against Chicago sure did help us out week 1.
I hope we do spoil there homecoming jus like we did in Dallas. They're treating us like the Arizonas and 49ers of the league NOT COOL. It makes me want this win even more.

I highly doubt we will roll over. The skins seem determined to fight tooth and nail till the end. We are by far the largest underdog of the weekend-7.5. Pretty reflective of everyone thinking we are a fluke. I know denvers a tough team and place to play but 7.5? Anyhow the odds are against us and somehow I like it. We have nothing to lose. The D should be inspired to redeem themselves from last weeks long drives given up. All signs point to a lose and somehow I think we will have a chance come the 4th quarter. Thats all you can really ask for come the end of the game on the road. Portis all day anyone?

Sounds good to me. Teams will have to learn not schedule us for the "rings of honor." They or the fans won't leave happy.

Sorry, missed that one. The second Largest underdog of the weekend.
I think it still emphasizes the point that we are not getting a lot of respect. Not like it matters, but can be used as some fuel like, No one thinks we can do this, look. That plus the ring ceremony. Oh boy I hope we have a huge chip on our schedule and play determined to win.

Just to touch on that respect thing (and the 49ers) for a moment.... Earlier in the week when they announced that Alex Smith was going to be starting this weekend for the 49ers, a bunch of the ESPN radio hosts were talking about how messed up it was for Mike Nolan to be doing that, and he should "wait til after the bye week when they play the Redskins" and "Peyton's gonna embarrass him," and "Smith musta pissed somebody off and they're doing this as payback"........I mean seriously, we cant even get respect for our matchup against the lowly 49ers!?!? come on, now, we've got a top-5 defense last time i checked
btw, if the line is only 14 for Indy over SF, i think i might have to place a bet for the over, they need to bump that up with Alex Smith starting.

With all due respect to Atwater who was a great player, you can't compare it to crashing the party for 3 players who defined a dynasty and are going to the hall of fame for in your biggest rival's back yard.

Big Country, was just passing on the news.
Just the fact that we are facing another ring ceremony at halftime.
Its another party to crash albeit the first one was our nemesis, it still remains an element of this weekend.

Everywhere on FOX, the Broncos are picked to win. From the line to thier experts, yet the fantasy projection computers have us winning by a TD!

I wish someone would show a highlight reel of Atwater in action to ST. Sean has been noticibly quiet these last few weeks, and Atwater could really bring the pain. Maybe it will get him pumped up to show people how we roll it DC-style.

Sean's been a little dinged and I think it bothers him. He was a little quiet vs. seattle. I too hope he lays someone out or makes a pick this weekend...wait scratch that, Both.

It is definitely time to crash another ring ceremony. These teams will learn that we feed off of this type stuff. Please continue to doubt us as a team!

Homecoming Game redux, I see. Dallas tried it, now Denver.
God willing our squad will make the local crew eat some humble pie tomorrow...

I think it is extremly silly to compare a non conference game to one against your biggest rival. If it wasn't for "the trade" this game would be one of the least interesting matchups of the Skins schedule. This ceramony will have zero effect on this game for you guys.

Dont be so sure. Gibbs said before the Dallas game that we were getting treated like a homecoming game and he might use the same motivation here.

Good point....but the beauty is, and kudos to the coaching staff for this, is that we haven't needed to Portis to "carry the team on his back"
