Kids these days don't have the GI joes and He mans like I had. The regular toys seem to be kinda of crappy if you ask me.

But the higher end toys are pretty sweet
I just saw a commercial for the Fisher Price escalade power wheels. Its got a cup holder, battery guage, a real FM radio and some sub woofers in the back (lol, I know the subs are not Bose by anymeans but it looks kinda cool)
check it out http://www.fisher-price.com/us/powerwheels/default.asp

edit: click 2-6 then escalade custom edition

I still have all of my GI joes and He mans... Ninja Turtles too.

I was always jealous as a kid of the power wheels cars that came out right after I was too big to use them. I'm sure it was great for my mom who didn't have to buy one cause I was always 'too big' but it sucked for me.

I hear ya tb. My kids have a Power Wheels Jeep ann Dune Buggy. They don't know how good they've got it.

I used to think I was the lucky kid 'on the block cause I had Rock'em-Sock'em robots! That and Big Wheels were in when I was a kid.

*puts on pouty face* My electronic football game never worked at all. It always sucked. I never understood the point of it and it pissed me off more than it entertained me.

LOL, I've wondered if anyone ever noticed it. My cat has a weird habit of jumping up onto the desk and pestering me whenever I'm at the 'puter. It's very cute/annoying.

I always wanted one of those vibrating football games when I was a kid, but I never got one 'cause it was a "toy for boys".

I think my favorite toy when I was a kid was my Lite Brite. (Except for when I was barefoot and stepped on those pointy little colored thingies.)

I could do running plays but did anyone ever figure out the passing game?

lol, my players just vibrated around the place and I guess I was a little to dumb to figure out how to make the thing work at all. I despised the damn thing.

You had to figure out where to set the little wheel in the players platform to set their direction. It was a lot of work and time to set up one play. That may have been the biggest gimmick toy ever but I bet the old ones are worth some $$$. I would love to have a Redskins/Miami version. As it was, mine was SF/CIN.

Man, I loved that football game. It did get on my nerves though...I bet I had 5-7 of those things during my youth...

But my favorite toy back in the day was the crash up derby cars. You got two cars and the ole platic pull string to make the go. You had to have good aim to make sure they hit. They would explode upon impact. Probably the greatest toy ever! Of course today's kid's couldn't have a toy like that. It would probably banned. Too many small pieces for children to choke on.

Funny some of the things I used to do in my youth that you can't do today. I never wore a helmet when riding my bike....lol

Since we're talking about toys and favorites here, I have to mention the coolest toy I ever had. The Evel Knievel doll and motorcycle, with the wind-up launch pad. It was an awesome toy that you could take anywhere, on any landscape. Did anyone else have one of them?

OMG, I forgot all about the derby cars until you mentioned that. Aaaahhh the memories!
And I still don't wear a helmet and I ride all over DC on my bike. My girl begs me to wear one but I don't even own one and I never have.

My favorite toys. You probably think, dolls, Barbies, dress up. NOPE!! My favorite toy, Matchbox cars. That included a racetrack. I had a battery powered motorcycle. I guess you can say, I was a tomboy. :)

Yeah! I had that when I was a kid. Loved it.

How about Whizzers? I loved those things. I had about 4 or 5 of them, with all the little accessories to make 'em do tricks. Our driveway in Potomac had a nice downhill slope, and I'd get 'em all spinning and watch 'em make their way down the drive. I saw something similar at WalMart the other day, but it was called something different (can't remember what). I almost bought one!
