A good friend of mine that I was stationed with in '87 had a friend who was a photographer who was at the Super Bowl in San Diego that year. Since he couldn't score me tickets he told me he would take some pics from field level and let me have them. Watching the Super Bowl Highlights on the NFL channel brought back some good memories so I thought I'd scan the pics in and share them with you all.

Nice pic's Pete! That was a very memorable season for me, I was 18 and it was one of the best times of my life. The Monday night game when our scabs beat the Cowgirls' with all their star players, the nailbiter against Minnesota and of course the 2nd quarter of that Super Bowl. Some of the best Redskins memories I have came from that season.

Thanks Rich, I wanted to go to that game in the worst way. I ended up in a bar in downtown San Diego heavily outnumbered by Bronco fans. You know who got the last word though! I remember the scabs as well and all the Redskin haters were saying both Skins Super Bowl seasons should have asterisks by them cause they were strike shortened seasons. Yeah right, Gibbs got the last word with his last Super Bowl win though...well, I stand corrected, the last one is yet to come. ;)

I watched in a bar at the Jersey shore, surrounded by "Bronco fans" (aka Giant fans hating the 'skins). They were very loud in the 1st quarter, but not so much after that.
