Does he deserve it or not?

He was a great player but not long enought to warrant HF imo.

I agree , he has not played long enough to earn that. It is a shame he was a beast

it's really a shame because he "could" have been a hall of famer if not for all the injuries. But no way was he around long enough to be considered.

I think he will be strongly considered. He was flat out dominant while he played, and would be a shoe-in if his career wasn't cut short.

didn't he only play 6 years???
Has there EVER been a player to make the hall in only 6 years?

Actually, he has 8 years vested in the league.
Also, Gail Sayers, who only played 7 years, comes to mind when thinking of someone who's play on the field stood out to the voters instead of his longevity.

I think 2 of those years was inactive on the Texans roster....For a lineman its much harder to make a case for themselves going into the Hall. I respected the guy and thought he was a monster when he played but he was out 1 full season with the Jags and 2 with the Texans If I remember correctly. I just don't see how he can be HOF material.

actually, he played in only 3 full seasons. His 7th season he played only 3 games with teh jags. His first season he started only 12 games. He's only started 90 games in his career. (played in 91.)
If he is even considered it's a shame.
I didn't know sayers was in the hall for one...two...he died. Not like Boselli getting inured. Sayers would have been a heart pick because he was amazing during his career. Stood out for 5 years. The fact he got sick got him in with that short career due to death.

He didn't play long enough to earn a trip to the Hall of Fame. In order to make the Hall playing so few games, you've got to be, in my opinion, someone who surpassed all others while you were on the field. Gale Sayers comes to mind. Tony Boselli does not.

I don't think so or timmy smith would be in the HOF for SBXXII

When did Gale Sayers die? Piccolo was the one that died. Did I miss something?
Back to the thread. Boselli does not deserve to be in the HOF. He never caught a touchdown in the Super Bowl......Hey they use that excuse to keep Art out, should work for Tony Boselli.

HAHAHAHHA...holy cow you're right...I don't know what I was thinking.
Why was Sayers career cut short?

Sayers' career was cut short due to what was back then a catastrophic knee injury. I believe that if he was playing today with that injury his career could have been saved, or at the very least, prolonged, to the point where he could have attempted a comeback.

I can't believe I thought he was actually dead when I remember seeing him years ago at a Bears game. How stupid. Oh well.
Well, you know what, that is a good point about Boselli's longevity, but Sayers was pretty clearly one of the best 2 backs in football during his time. (most say THE best) Boselli wasn't considered number 1 or 2 but for only 2 years, maybe three.

Sayers was head and shoulders above any running back in his era, with the exception of Jim Brown, but they were 2 totally different backs as far as style. The NFL had never seen anyone like Sayers and maybe only 1 since then, and that would be Barry Sanders.
Boselli on the other hand, had equals IMO, and did little to distinguish himself as a new breed and trend setter at the O Line position, when you consider the Jonathon Odgens, Walter Jones of the AFC. Was Boselli good, yes. Pro bowler, definately. Hall of famer, NO. IF there was a hall of very good, he would be in. But not the Hall of Fame.

Look at all the o-linemen to make the HOF. You'd have to compare the numbers ....ie, #of games played, # years played, # years making All Pro, ........etc.
Boselli was heading there and should (IMO) be considered one of the best (if not the best) to never making into the HALL. But hey, there have been alot of players that fallen into the same circumstance. Just didn't play enough to qualify.
