View Full Version : Brunell starting to get some "fantasy" love...

I can't believe my eyes! Brunell has quickly turned into a hot commodity this week in fantasy football...and has been close to the top on many owner's waiver wire list. I guess throwing for 300+ with 2TDs and 0INTs on the road in rainy Denver will do that to your rep.

Check out what I've read on a fantasy football forum:

I like Brunell, and traded him away last week in pkg deal.
Now, I am trying to get him back.
But owner is not biting.

I plan to start him over Mc Nabb (bye) and Delhomme this week, he is "en fuego" !

If not this week def. next week vs the 49'ers, I have Brady on a bye in wk7 and Brunell is going against the 49'ers. Brady owners get him now if you can!

I never thought I'd even consider this, but I'm thinking of starting Mark Brunell (who I picked up off waivers last week) over Daunte Culpepper (my first round pick)??? Am I outta my mind here? Daunte has had only one decent game while Brunell has been lighting it up. But how can I possibly bench Daunte Culpepper for Brunell???

Interesting, huh? ;)

Very interesting. I wouldn't be surprised if he was one of the cheapest qbs starting out on the market considering his performance last season. He needs to keep it going and stay healthy.

I had Pennington, then when he went down my buddy offered me a crap deal with a poo QB and somebody else for my best players. I told him no and picked up Brunell. Mu fantasy team is still pretty bad, but the addition of Brunell is nice.

I picked up Brunell in a league with my friends a few minutes before gametime and started him over Collins (who had a bye) and they all thought I was crazy. But WHO got the last laugh!

The guy I am playing this week picked up Brunell! :)

I think it is bad mojo to have fantasy players from your favorite team... hence why this is the first year I've played in awhile.

I agree, but it's too tempting. I would have about 4-5 players starting on my team from our offense alone with Brunell, CP, Moss, and Cooley. May throw Patten in also.

I know its funny. I picked him up weeks ago in Akh's FF League. Lo and behold he's my new starter. However in my other league I tried to pick him up but some other owner snagged him before I could because he was higher on the waiver wire than I was. Argh!

Brunell's my starter too. I have Brunell, Santana Moss, Portis, Cooley and the redskins D on my roster.

When the season started, I thought Portis and the D would be getting all my points. I wanted Brunell as a backup and Moss as an optional 3rd receiver. I foolishly picked up Heath Miller as my primary tight end, but was able to get cooley, too as a backup. How things have changed!

Either way, I'm glad to have the NFL's #1 fantasy QB and #1 WR starting right now!

The SKins won it for me this week. So cool when you're starting qb throws 3 td's to you're primary reciever and te.

Brunell is starting for me this week over Eli and Bulger (injured).

Just heard on 980 that a reported gave Gibbs an opportunity to give a big fat "I told you so" about Brunell and he took the high road. I love coach! It would have been hard for me to do that.
