Big Daddy (http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/articles/A13083-2003Jul18.html)
Big daddy to be cut? I say no way, just a front office strategy. Cant cut when you have no, and i mean , absolutely no depth

I agree with ya PennSkinsFan because after the deep lose with D. Gardener how can we supply a decent pass rush. Of course i do like what i hear about Noble being a guy that wants to strive to be a better player all the time even though he is an exCowgirl player.

i think this is all a ploy by the skins to get big daddy to take a pay cut. with the only weekness on our team being the defensive line, i really doubt they will let him go, IMO. but then again i've seen them let go of other players when we thought they wouldnt.

I think they will keep him but I would not be surprised if this is his last season here.
Also how hard is it to sign a 7th rounder anyway

hamptonskinsfan : i think you're right.
big daddy will most probably be with the 'skins this season.
your DL does not appear to be your strongest dept this year.
p.s. just in case you guys do cut him loose; i e-mailed bradway. ;)

Bah Braday wont want his underachieving butt. I really feel this guy should be left alone and let him finish out his contract this year then say adios to him.

Our defense will get destroyed if we get rid of Big Daddy. Even w/ him I feel our line is pretty weak to mediocre. Why can't we at least get some young hungry players in there instead of older plataeu players that merely hold up blocks? :smash:

Nah this is all negotiations poise. Big daddy will start and play the season. BUT, ther eis no doubt in my mind, Big Daddy will nOT finish out his contract, This is it, this is his last season. I see them addressing DLien next year ont he draft and that will be the hand aving goodbye.

Maybe this is for real. The Redskins coaches have always thought thier LB corp is strong and deep. Getting the best player on the field may be the goal as well as saving $3.5million. In a 3/4 defense, Mitchell-L. Jackson-G. Scott et al could get on the field. B. Noble is a NT if ever I saw one. Del Cowsette is too. Wynn, Haley, Upshaw, Zellner and Smith can rotate at DE. Even in a 4/3, Noble, Wynn, Haley, Cowsette, Upshaw can all come inside to DT and all had a better year than Big D.
I'm also reminded of another DT that was "gonna be the one"-
A few years ago I was at a Miami-Carolina NFL game. Miami had the 2nd ranked NFL defense at the time and Carolina's Sean Gilbert was "earning" more money than the entire Dolphin starting defensive lineup-combined. I don't want the Skins to be holding on to hope while the opportunity cost, in player development and cap room is spent.

the skins dont have any leverage here. they have to keep big daddy unless they are hoping that ted washington from chicago gets cut and they sign him. this is big daddy last year unless he miraculously has a pro bowl season.

I've said before that I think that the team is very serious about cutting Wilkerson. I don't think that he is as safe as he and some of you think that he is. He only had 17 tackles last year. The FO probably thinks that they cannot get worse production with someone else in that slot. Maybe the money would be used to sign Champ long term now instead of waiting, which is what I thought alot of you wanted.;)

if thats the case.....BYE BYE BIG DADDY!! seriously, if they did cut him, the FO would have to have another plan in place. i think some decent D lineman will be cut during TCs......btw, only 8 days and 8 minutes til training camp!

There won't be any starters cut during camp.
