Not really a true Top Story. Yes it's something to talk about but I think it's more of promoting the chat area. Way too early to talk about winning the East. That shouldn't be in there until we beat both the Giants and the Eagles. Love the props, but just like most stuff news writes (I work for a news org. so I do know what I'm talking about) it's just filler. When the Skins win the next 2 games the true stories will start to surface. For now stuff that is just obvious. :typeR2:

Clark Judge brought a interesing point.

He said if m. burnell wasn't washed up last year, we probably wont draft j. campbell.

If m. burnell did well last year, would we had draft other position other than QB?

Brunell is 35. He's not going to be around too much longer. Drafting Campbell was a good idea whether Brunell played well last year or not.

Yea I heard about it. It's not suppose to be serious, he just played alot more than usual and it was sore.

Campbell's drafting in hindsight was more a reflection of the coachs' confidence in Ramsey rather then Brunell.

I was very Critical of the Campbell choice and I still wish we had a decent TE (Heath Miller is lighting it up in Ptt by the way. 16 catches , 2nd on the team, for 182 yards and 4 TDS!!!! Imagine him and Cooley roaming the middle while Moss and Patten streak dow the sidelines....ok ok let it go Dustin). However it looks like the Coach knew what he was doing. Now we can trade Ramsey and Campbell will have two whole pre-seasons under his belt before he becomes #2. Brunell will stay around next year and maybe the year after that. If we win the Superbowl he retires, if not we transition to Campbell.

If m. burnell did well last year, would we had draft other position other than QB?Don't agree with that. Why? Gibbs said before the draft that anyone that think Mark Brunell is done in Dc is wrong. He had faith and new Brunell was not done here. The third and fourth year of Brunell's contract will become too large, plus he is 35. I thinkt he objective with Campbell si even clearer now. You get two to three more good years out of Brunell, you have a young guy learning the whole way through that process.

Gibbs knew two things about Ram: 1) His contract was coming up soon, and chance of resigning are nil; and 2) Gibbs never bought into Ram being the right guy here in DC.

So what do you do? Go draft a QB that you think is perfect fit, and I trust Gibbs wholeheartedly in identifying a QB that fits this system, and do it this draft so he has a good 2 to 3 years as backup learning how to play in this system. If anything, I think the plan become much clearer now.

So no, I do not believe that Brunell's bad play had anything to do with campbell being drafted. I think campbell was drafted as a long term plan, regardless of Brunell.

Don't worry about players who are considered "probable". They will all play...and most will be at 100% come game time.

What is uplifting is the fact that we have ZERO players listed at Questionable, Doubtful or Out~! Its been a while since that has been the case.

The Redskins are fully healthy. The Giants are not.

Very true. Finally,. It seems every year we are plagued with injuries and this year we have been fortunate thus far.

With Griffin, Salave'a and Killings being nicked up we might see more of the 3-4 we saw last week. Lavar will be ready!

We've been fortunate as far as the injury bug is concerned. I hope it stays that way.

I think the Campbell pick was a testament to Ramsey not Brunell. So i agree with you. When the Campbell pick was made i knew Ramsey was done in DC. Hopefully everything goes the way you stated.

If you look to see who they have played you can understand why they are #1 in the league in scoring.

Yeah, I really don't get this conversation? Even if Brunell was Dan Marino-esque in '04, you still draft someone sooner rather than later, right? Unless of course you think Ramsey is the long term answer.

I can give you ARZ and STL's D sucks... but Denver gave us fits?!?!? If we put up 24, we would have won and they somehow could.

But if we can steal a win from them at home (they're undefeated at home and LOSE TERRIBLY in away games... Dallas was trying to give the game away and still won), the world will be right again. The NO home game at East Rutherford is a travesty....

But Brunell didn't play like this last year, and even if he had, he's still not the long term answer at QB. Ramsey isn't either. If Brunell had played this well last year, I suspect that Gibbs would still draft a Qb high in 06 as the Heir apparent. Now Campbell can sit and learn the NFL for an extra year.

They lead the NFL in scoring because they have I believe 18 takeaways. That is ridiculous. If we protect the ball then they'll have a tough time putting up points.

We gave ourselves fits. End of story. We handled Denver and handed the game to them. We should have won by 6. I know, shoulda, woulda, coulda, but Denver did not give us fits.

I think that the 3-4 will work better against the Giants and hopefully we use it a lot.

For a young guy like myself, it's extremely odd to hear good things about the Redskins in the media, and it's odd to watch little specials about us in pre-game shows. I'll definately take it.

Not only is John Hall getting A LOT more work in the last couple of weeks, but the coaches really favor his 7 years of experience kicking at the meadowlands. That stadium has some nasty winds and it gets worse as the season progresses and the weather gets colder.
