Grimm and Monk Belong. They should've both been voted in their first year of eligibility. The HOF cannot be given any serious credibility as long as these 2 players remain excluded.
Doug Williams has conviced me that Dexter deserves serious consideration.

I don't think that Dexter gets in due to his off-field troubles. Of course, Ray Lewis is a murderer, Jamal Lewis has his own crack dealership, and Michael Irvin maintained a house of ill repute during his time in Dallas, and those guys will get in (maybe not Jamal).
As I recall Lawrence Taylor may have had an incident or two as well, but he's in. Manley's play makes him arguable, but I believe his troubles exclude him, however unfairly, from the conversation.
Of course, having a Hall of Fame without Art Monk and Russ Grimm is like having a car with no motor. Sure, it looks like a car, and people might appreciate it for that, but it doesn't have all the critically necessary components.

Jacoby should be in there too.
He was the premire big O-Tackle of his day.
When he pulled around the end on the counter-tre he looked like snow plow on a school day.

How did he do that?

He pulled numbers from people who are there and convinced me that Dexter's numbers are comparable, and anyone who saw him saw the effect of Dexter on the field.
BTW -I wasn't saying Jacoby isn't worthy and honestly Clark has numbers that compare very closely to Michael Irvin, I was just saying that Grimm and Monk should've have been there already. Grimm was the best player in the NFL at his position for about 10 years. Jacoby always had Anthony Munoz to contend with and it didn't help him in some peoples eyes that later in his career Lachey moved him to RT.

Another thing that doesn't help Jacoby are the videos of Lawrence Taylor coming around the corner, beating Joe, to sack Theismann or Schroeder. Jacoby was a dominant run blocker, no denying that, but speed rushers could get the better of him. It was a good move to put him on the right side in favor of Lachey on the left.

Redskin's teams dominated the 80's, went to 4 SBs and won 3, played in the toughest division in the NFL, and provided some of the finest football of that era. Yet only 1 player (John Riggens) and Gibbs represent that team.
If that's not a slap in the face I don't know what is. Why the neglection? Monk did his job and did it without flair. What a snub of arguably one of the the best WRs of all time. I don't get it.
BTW, Excellent write ups CB.
