Ok, thanks a lot, here's the post, thanks for your help:

Redskins fans...................your Bristish cousins need your help.

TV coverage in the UK is limited, Skins fans here are limited to listening to the games on the internet most times and only get 3 or 4 (maximum) live games per season.

The channel that shows live games here, Sky Sports, is giving fans the chance to vote for which games UK fans can watch in week 10 of this season...........that week, the Redskins take on the Bucs.

The vote is taking place at the nfl's official uk site:

http://www.nfluk.com/features-display.php?id=1532

You do need to register for the site to vote and it's an IP specific vote as far as I am aware but any help you guys can give us geographically challenged fans would be gratefully received.

I know you guys will help us out, cos as Jack Kent Cooke said himself: 'The best bloody fans in the world...........Redskins fans'.

We are lucky enough to be getting the Giants game this week plus with the Skins being a Sunday night game next week, we also get that (we get all SNF and MNF games live, although it means staying up until all hours to watch!). Help us make it 3 live games in a row please!!

Ok my vote is in. Good luck with watching the games and maybe you should consider some type of satillite radio to listen to games. Well hope redskin fans in the UK can get 3 in a row!

My vote is in as well. I´m in Spain but the only way to watch football is through sky sports at a crappy tex mex bar. Even if we dont get to watch three games in a row im pumped I at least get to see the giants game today. I gave up watching the skins after we werent on for the first 6 weeks.

Don't know if our overseas fans have heard of this product called the Slingbox, but it sounds pretty cool. If you have high speed internet you can access any TV (as long as the TV is tuned to the game you want to watch) stateside. It would have to be through a relative or friend. For $250 it might be worth it. (I'd volunteer...The Skins are on every weekend whether I'm home or not. It's the Law in my house!)

Here's a brief description:

Introducing the Slingbox™ — a groundbreaking piece of hardwired ingenuity that will literally transform the way you watch television. The Slingbox enables you to watch your TV programming from wherever you are by turning virtually any Internet-connected PC into your personal TV. Whether you’re in another room or in another country, you’ll always have access to your television.

What is it?

The Slingbox is a compact and elegantly designed, state-of-the-art electronic device that connects to the back of your TV. It redirects, or “placeshifts,” the TV signal from your cable box, satellite receiver, or digital video recorder (DVR) to your computer or laptop of choice, no matter your location — so long as you have a high-speed Internet connection. This utterly unique device will transform the way you watch TV. Whether you want to watch your soaps in the laundry room, or catch the big game during a conference call, or watch your local news from China, the power is now in your hands.
You can read about it here (http://www.slingmedia.com/)

I checked Epinions.com and they only had one review, but it sounded positive. Here is the REVIEW (http://www.epinions.com/Sling_Media_Silver_SlingBox_Personal_Broadcaster/display_~reviews)

Hope this helps. It would be nice to know our fellow fans overseas can watch the game in realtime as well. Good Luck!

Done.

BTW Chrisbob, is there any sort of movement in the UK to bring DirecTV there for the benefit of getting NFL Sunday Ticket, or are National Satellite and Cable companies strictly opposed to that?

There is a possibility. On the nfluk site there was a chance for a Q&A session with a guy called Alistair Kirkwood, who is NFL Europe VP of Strategic Planning & Development, I asked him about it:

http://www.nfluk.com/features-display.php?id=1406

Is it possible that sometime in the future the NFL would consider setting up some version of NFL Network over here with fans having the option to choose what game they wish to watch etc?

Is it possible (in the mean time) that a channel such as NASN could be given the chance to show either alternative live games to Sky, or some "as live" games during the week so that we have the chance to see as much football as possible. Also, could they not have been given a chance to show the Sunday Night Football games that Channel 5 will not show live due to the baseball season?

Chris Brophy, Liverpool.

Chris, taking your questions one at a time: First up, NFL Network is coming up to its second birthday after being launched late in 2003, and its ‘official’ status means that it has the opportunity to access players and get behind the scenes in a way that no television channel covering our sport has been able to before. NASN in the UK are showing the Network’s primetime show – Total Access – on weekday nights, and if you get the chance to watch it you will see from the interviews and locker-room access that it really does live up to its name. In terms of being able to see any game you wish to watch, NFL Sunday Ticket is something that we have hoped to bring to the UK for a long time. The desire to get Sunday Ticket into the UK was one of the reasons why our broadcast negotiations with Sky took so long. In the upcoming season Sunday Ticket is off the menu, with Sky citing expense and manpower issues as their reasons, but we are trying to encourage them to run an additional game on at least one occasion this season which will be accessed using the red interactive button.

We have also applied for a TV channel licence from Offcom so that we can possibly set up our own version of NFL Network. For now our priority is to get behind Sky so that they get behind Sunday Ticket and consider it for their 2006 season coverage.

As I have already mentioned, we are still in negotiations with NASN to show ‘as-live’ games, but if it happens it will now be after the start of the season.

I've heard of slingbox, I do have NFL Field Pass so I listen to all the games live, I also get them all on DVD later in the week so I get to see the whole game and I do have a way of viewing the games online live but it's limited, but combined with the radio, works ok.

If Directv or Sunday Ticket happened, I'd be in heaven!!!

Thanks to everyone for there help with this.

Bumping this for a reason:

Many thanks to those who submitted votes to help get the Redskins vs Bucs game shown here.

Due to that game having it's start time changed to a 4.05pm EST KO, the voting has had to be reset and started again, so if you would like to help us out again, feel free to follow the link (http://www.nfluk.com/features-display.php?id=1532#) (requires registration, if you registered last time, you should be able to use that account again).

Thanks in advance for your help guys!

I tried. Everytime I go to login they say my password is incorrect. Even after they e-mailed me a new password and I cut and pasted it in the login box. Sorry chaps maybe I'll try again later.

The more we get to watch the Skins the better, I have voted from work and at home. My only problem is that I will be lying on a beach in St Lucia whilst hopefully the Skins are on TV back in the UK putting on a show after last weeks game. :banghead:

I just hope Sunday Ticket will arrive in the UK sooner rather than later. I would sign up straight away to watch the skins every week.

Hail
