I don't normally single out players, but I agree here. Gibbs has been known to "send messages" after losses like this - don't be surprised if Royal hits the waiver wire this week, and Kozlowski takes over in his packages.

Kozlowski has had a history of dropping balls so I hope that doesnt happen. But Royal looked horrible out there today. But so did everyone else on offense, Moss had a few key drops as well. So did Patten, Cooley, and Portis.

Royal was the worst, but your right, the blame goes around. Add Betts to that list as well

i was about to point that out as well. this guy seems to have dropped down the fumble tree and hit every branch on the way down. the way rock is runnign the ball lately, it wouldn't surprise me at all to see Betts at the very least fall down the depth chart.

Yeah and was it me or on the one pass early in the third quarter, he just had a total look of disinterest.

yeah, i caught that. he didn't seem like he was upset by his performance today.

Agreed, but I saw this from just about everyone out there on offense today.
Royal drops balls right in his hands.
Patten drops a crucial third down pass right in his stomach.
Cooley fumbles.
Moss fumbles.
The O-line is a joke.
Portis runs into the line and falls down over and over.
I could go on and on, but this is just one of those games where you almost have to throw it out completely and just get to the next game right away.

I myself have dropped 5 balls in one game so I say 8.

Amen.
Sure...Portis does the little things well...blocks...catches. But he runs (or stumbles) more like a fullback and we are not getting our money worth with his production. I've worn myself out defending him...but he is injured so...once again...he is getting the benefit of the doubt. But from what I've seen, he is merely a serviceable running back right now that we could get his production from someone else costing much less.

The only reason I'll give Cooley a pass is because that man had no business being out there in the first place considering how dinged up he was. But I'm sure he convinced the coaching staff to get out there. I might be making excuses for him but he played his guts out. That said I still do agree he shouldn't have fumbled. But its understandable.

The number is infinity. Royal can drop as many passes as can be thrown to him in one game. It would probably take a mathematician to figure it out!

royal sucked, but so did every single redskin today. heck, even a lot of ex redskins sucked today. royal was atrocious, but nor the reason we lost.

Dont put this on Royal, the team as a whole did bad. Also gotta put down the rushing defense for allowing tiki barber to get over 200 yards.

Moss, Patten, Portis, Royal, Brunell & the entire team dropped the ball today.

Did he actually catch a ball today?

I certainly don't hang this ridiculous loss on Royal, but he was the worst of all the bad performances today. Brunnel was bad, but he looks alot better without Royal's 5 drops and several others. The whole team looked like they weren't awake or something.

Royal can be called out b/c he seems to drop balls every week, unlike Moss and Cooley. That guy needs to pack his luggage. We can't afford players not to come through when asked for so little for crying out loud.
Royal gets paid like a Doctor, he should be doing pass catching drills every day to catch the measley 2-3 balls we throw him a week. Is that too much to ask? What the hell does he do in practice everyday?
I 3rd infinity.

I think Robert Royal will be joining Antonio Brown pretty soon here. He dropped an easy one against Denver too. Royla ain't that good at blocking either.

NEWS FLASH: Redskin Tight End Robert Royal sets ALL Time Record for a Dropped Pass.
Redskin tight end Robert Royal today set an NFL record for a dropped pass that wasn't thrown to him. According to observers, Royal was no where near the pass he inexplicably dropped.
"Robert hadn't even gone out for a pass," said Redskin WR Santana Moss, "The ball was thrown over my head downfield but just seemed to materialize as a dropped pass from Robert's hands at the line of scrimmage."
Joe Gibbs is still scratching his head over the play. John Madden's explanation that the ball just seemed to fall from Royal's hands out of habit was taken as a joke at first by authorities but has been taken up as a speculation worthy of serious study by physicists and anamists of the U.S. Institute of String Theory Research.
"The ball was there and then it was gone," Royal told independent researchers Stephen Hawkins and Pat Robertson.

I have to agree with what someone else said earlier......everyone dropped the ball on this one and it was just an all around terrible game. Everyone normally has at least one game like this a season and this was ours. Its how we come back from this loss that will define what we will do for the rest of this season.

LOL! no really, Royal was really out of line yesterday dropping all those balls that hit him in his hands while he was wide open most of the time. Another thing that made the drops even worse was the fact that they were all for first downs and then the one for the TD. Heres to all the fans who wanted that pass blocking non atheletic sloberknocker Tightend...cheers...
I wonder what Heath Miller's stats are looking like this season.....Hmmmmmm

1/2 of our team is mediocre. 1/2 of the time that 1/2 of the team plays better than they should. 1/4 of the time 1/2 of the team plays sufficiently due to gameplanning. 1/4 of the time 1/2 of the team plays like they are mediocre.
Yesterday, 1/1 of the team played like dyslexic Chinese on an English Scrabble team.

Actually here goes something from today hot off the press about Heath Miller......
"Steelers TE Heath Miller is now showing what he can do on the field. So give credit to head coach Bill Cowher and his staff for making some good play-calling adjustments! Move over Tony Gonzalez and Antonio Gates!"

sorry for my rant but I screamed last year that Royal was nothing special and barely serviceable last season when we past on him in the draft...and people HERE were saying we didnt need a pass catching TE like Heath Miller but we needed a SLoberknocker (whatever the hell that is)....matter fact I am goona go find that thread....lol

Yeah Robert Royal serves absolutely no purpose out there on the feild. He should be passing Gatorade around on the side lines.
But was Heath Miller realy available when it was our turn to pick?
I'm no fan of UVA, but I remember Heath when he was doing his thing in college. "go Hokies!!!!!!"
