Syas basically that he gave thought to a hold out to jump start long term contract talks, but that woudl go against the image he has developed with Redskin fans.
This si truly sad cause it sounds like the image he wants to potray is an image like Darrell Green and wants to stay a Redskins but the FO has not made any moves as of yet.

That is sad indeed. Someone with Bailey's potential who could start anywhere in the league no problem, is stating he'd like to be a skin and wants to project a positive image. Where are you going to find somebody like that? It's actually good also that he wanted to hold out because it seems he wants to be a skin for a long time. GET IT DONE FO!!!!!!!

Champ is pure class... you dont find many of these gems in the NFL nowadays. It will be a waste if our FO lets him go elsewhere.

I'm almost sorry he didn't hold out. Maybe then he would get a contract.

A holdout would not have been the answer for Champ. It may have backfired and he would have probably crawled back into the fold right before the season started without the necessary reps to stay at his usual level or greatness. Having a suspect year wouldn't help his situation with the Skins or in the open market. Regardless, these dummies in the FO need to wake up and seal the deal on Champ. A must have player. It would be a joke if we pay two arms and three legs for Coles and not fire some big offers at a clearly better player in Champ.

im hoping that after the 3 draft picks get signed, danny and the boys will sit down with champ and hammer out a deal. i know that this is going to be the only thing that reporters are going to be asking champ when the 28th comes around and it will be a distraction to him and the team. c'mon Redskins FO, take care of your own.......

The Times is a joke! Champ is in a good place here, he and his family(mother/grandmother) know this. Champ's agent was the one with this "idea". Champ will sign, unless the FO really, REALLY fouls up. Which they won't/can't. LOL I have round/about inside info on Champ. I've spoken with a couple members about this recently. It's the reason I never sweat if Champ will sign or not.

I'll bet a big reason why they are asking Big Daddy to restructure is so they can clear up room to offer Champ some money after the rooks are signed...
If so....THEN RESTRUCTURE, BIG DADDY!

Thanks for the welcome back. I've been around but usually don't post unless I think I have something worth writing.
once the 27th rolls around I'll be spouting off more often.

The FO isn't that stupid to let Champ walk, or are they???????????? I hope there not

There is a difference in choosing to let Champ walk away...and having to let Champ walk away.
Everyone of us Skins fans are excited about our upcoming season, now that we have upgraded our talent at almost every position via the offseason transactions. Surely we can't be so delusional to think that this won't effect us down the road?
A cap exists...and I'm afraid the FO may have to finally decide if they want to have a VERY talented team minus Champ...or a SUBPAR team with him.

Well, we shouldn't need to be as crazy active in FA next season to bring in need areas. Why not harness all of that money Snyder likes to throw at new contracts each year and spend it on the best possible player that would be in FA? The Champ himself. If push came to shove on this debate, I'd rather cut loose Samuels' gigantic contract than lose Champ. Not that that's a realistic either/or senario.

But HailYeah...if Snyder didn't have an active offseason and he didn't bring in Thomas, Fiore, Morton, Canidate, Coles...etc...and we had same O-line from last year...and the same WR corp from last year...etc, would us Skins fans be as excited as we are now? And would we be predicting us to have a 9-7 or higher record? I highly doubt it. Champ is an AMAZING player, I will be the first to admit that. However, he is only one man.... He won't prevent Ramsey from getting sacked...and he won't catch 1,200 yards for us a receiver.
I think we should all put on the blinders this season....enjoy what we currently have...and cross this bridge when it comes.

Right you are DJ. If upgrades would not have been done, this team was headed for 7-9, 6-10, maybe with this schedule 5-11. We seriously upgraded several positions and many of the are young and will be long term solutions, such as Thomas, Bowens, Morton, and Coles. I like most of the moves. We have cap issues facing us in the next three years, there are no doubts there. Whether Champ can be signed or not, well, we'll wait and see.

I think Hailyeah's point is about not having to spend alot next offseason because of this season. Correct me if I'm wrong hailyeah.

I believe you are right. Sorry Hail. I totally misread it. And I agree that next year we should be set at most/all of our positions.
