one of my pet peeves with Fantasy Football leagues is when guys fall behind with a losing record then stop worrying about their teams. Its not fair to the other guys who are trying to keep winning and move up in the standing.
In one of the league's i'm in a guy with a losing record has 5 players starting and their teams are on a bye week. What sucks is he's playing against a team that's leading the league and undefeated.
Sorry, but had to get that off of my chest. :D

That's an easy problem to solve.
Play for money or something of consequence.

You'd think. The league i'm talking about was formed at work. $20 bucks to enter. And guys still don't give enough to keep up with their teams...

Sorry, but had to get that off of my chest. :DI feel completely opposite.........This week. The guy I am playing this week is one of the guys you are talking about. He has been giving away W's like he was unicef for the last 3 weeks. I am expecting an easy win when Sun morning I check my matchup and he went and filled the 3 empty WR slots and is now beating me by 16pts. I still have Edgerrin James tonight and in my league with the way the points are he should be able to eclipse that mark, but it sure would've been easier if he had decided not to become an active player again.

Yeah, I agree, but I am not into FF that much so it didn't occur to me until you mentioned it.

I hate this stuff too. Of course, I am ranking number 2 in both my fantasy leagues and got to play two different guys JUST like this in both of those leagues...so I don't feel much like complaining this week.

Sounds like every league has one of those people. I'm leading my league right now with only 1 loss and play "that guy" in week 10. He didn't even attend the draft so he was given the minimum number of players at each position and then the rest defenses!!! So he has like 6 defenses on his team. We've already decided he's out next year and it's not like our league is free - we charge $60 to enter!

In my money league, if you don't submit a lineup one week, your last weeks lineup gets played and you are deducted 10 pts. 2nd time is a 20 pt deduction and after the 3rd, you get booted and the commisioner runs the team as a ghost for the remainder of the season for competitive balance.

The commish can set the lineup. That's what I do when people bag in free leagues.

this happened in my league this year and really helped me. I was in first place and got to play a lot of scrubs. I really didnt like it tho because i didnt feel like i was doing anything and my wins werent valued by the other guys. I too hate this.

Ha! The one league I play in has a $110 buy in. For about 15 weeks of fun, scheming and plotting, that's not too bad. Believe me...at that price, even I at 3 wins and like 9 losses, I was still trying to play spoiler every week.

I heard that!
If you can keep your league together for a couple of years, great rivalries and bragging rights will develop.
This up's the ante even more.

I have to call out my league commissioner. We are having our awards party during the superbowl and he has spent all the league fees and is jobless as of now. I ended up in 2nd place and have over 100 bucks coming my way. I don't know how he is going to pay everyone. Good thing we are all friends in this league.

This is exactly why I do not play in free leagues.
