Wilkinson feels secure right now because the team has nothing to replace him at defensive tackle. If another DT of similar quality becomes available, however, I'd expect the Skins to try to acquire that player and release Wilkinson. Unless such a player comes on the market, however, I think the Skins are stuck and Wilkinson knows it. He embarrassed himself and stole from the team last year with his atrocious play, but there is no one on the roster to replace him right now. Unless another move can be made, the Skins will just have to bite the bullet and hope Wilkinson decides to earn his money this year.

The Lions were trying to trade Shaun Rogers, but who would take a player with this kindda contract who's 30 yearsa old, even if you did throw in a 4th or even 3rd rounder for next year.

True. Gardener woudl have been a higher cap hit and many position may have gone untocuhed that needed and got touched. Good point.
