I know it sucked.
I know the turnovers killed us.
I know the ref was afraid of leaving the stadium safely if he reversed that 2 point conversion call.
But it's done.
Over.
Every sportcaster I heard today said that the skins might have trouble, that they just lost a playoff game - the wildcard is gone.
Ok - - The bucs will go 10-6 if :
refs blow 3 calls a game
the other teams hands them the ball three times
A rookie QB can get a rating of 107 EVERY game
One handed catches happen once a game for a 30 yard gain
does anyone know the odds of how many bads things happened yesterday?
I mean seriously. The Bucs still have to play falcons twice, panthers and pats on the road. 10-6 will be tough to get - alot of things went wrong yesterday. alot.
I can tell you this, This team will not lose a game like this again. Not this year. DO you know the odds on all of those freaky things happening?? Do you think you feel bad and pissed as a fan? How about the players?? How about the coaches?? How about the 11 guys on the field that looked down and saw the ball stop 7 inches short and the called it in??
Alot has been said out of anger and frustration. But we are one game out. Gibbs' teams are known for playing tougher and known for getting better each game. Portis is showing his talents, Brunell gave the ball up 3 times but kept poised. Giants have a tough 7 games remaining. I still think we are in. Remember, it is the NFL. Let the games begin.

Very good post. What I've learned about the nfl is one thing-it's very unpredicatable. That's why I never gamble on the games, or any sports for that matter. Atlanta and New York lost to lowly teams at home yesterday and they have better records than us. We need Dallas to lose tonight. It's very important with the way everything is shaping up. If we win the next couple, people around here will be singing a different tune. We won't have a tougher loss this season than yesterday.

Only problem is that all those freaky things happened to us against the Giants...
...and the Broncos.
That's now 3 games that the forces of nature, the football gods, whatever you wanna call it, have caused us to lose. No team has worse luck than us.
Well, maybe the Jets.

IMO there is no way the Bucs will make the playoffs w/ Cadillac running like he is now. The media always is just one week the Redskins win the NFC east, next they're not gonna be in the wild card hunt.

Everyone gets so friggin emotional after just 1 game because is a highly emotional sport (esp. close nfl games.) People need to strongly remind themselves that football is a very long 16 game, 18 week season. 1 game doesn't make or break a year.

Thats what I B sayin' yo.
Bucs are getting 9-7 if they play hard. We saw Eli with a hard shot of reality. Wait, just wait.

There is one guarantee in football, you never know how it will all pan out, someone might get cold at the end and choke, someone might get hot and take it in the second half, it's never ever until it's over.

Its a loooong season and there is way too much football to be played to start assuming anything. I said this last week after we beat the eagles and people were talking all this stuff about the playoffs and SB. Come on guys, lets take it one week at a time. I hate it when we beat someone and get over confident, start feeling ourselves too much. And I hate it when we loose and people start saying the season is over. We have to reasonable.
So to lighten the mood, its 3rd quarter and Iggles are up 17 to 10 on Dallas. Which means if the Iggles win, we all will be tied for 2nd in the NFC East and only one game behind the Giants. Before I get ahead of myself, I'll leave this note unresolved until the end of the MNF game.

The season is still completely in our own hands. We still have an opportunity to whoop the eagles, kill dallas and belittle the giants this very season and i can't imagine us not going to the playoffs if we do just that.

I was there, The only thing that keeps me sane is that we are one game out with 7 to go. Get it together boys.

Scratch that comment, the freagin' Cowgirls won last night. Doesnt' change much, we are still 1 game out of 1st in the NFC East. So we're in pretty good shape, standing wise that is.

Why is it that people arent giving tampabay the credit they deserved. they are a GOOD football team and they beat a GOOD football team in the washington redskins. It was a close game that could have gone either way. How we are talking now is how Seahawk fans talked after we miraculously won that game due to a missed field goal that shouldnt have been missed. We have won more than our fair share of close games this year. And we just lost another close one today. There's no shame in losing to a good football team.
If our defense doesnt continue its downward spiral, our season is still alive. We could still conceivably win the division. The giants have a TOUGH schedule ahead. THey are not going to finish the year they way they started.
Our schedule is going to get very easy for the next month. If we can win 3 out of the next 4 games, which is entirely possible, if not likely, we will be 8-5 with 3 crucial divisional games to end the season. 2 of those are home games, and one of them is against a team we already beat on the road. We can finish the season 10-6 and get a playoff berth if our defense gets it act together.
Its not over till its over, folks, but lets stop making excuses.

I know we lost and that we are better than we are playing, but I like that we have not given up ever this season. In years past the Skins would have given up after the Bucs scored following the Betts kick return.
Bad calls, turnovers, bigs plays the Skins keep fighting. Maybe we make the playoffs and maybe we don't but next year we will be a little bit better. The direction is up for the Skins and it is better than we have seen in a long time.
PS. The football is fun to watch as well, except for the nail biting!

Unfortunately for the Redskins, the odds have been 1 in every 7 days as of late. Odds go out the windows when we play.

Not the Vegas odds. They had the game as even on Sunday, and it came down to a freaking two point conversion. I was wondering if some mobsters had the referees' families hostage or something which is the only explanation I can think of for how badly that game was officiated.
