Bills fan here just coming to check this place out. Looks great! For my first post here I would like to get your thoughts on backup qb rob johnson. As you know he got a bad rap in buffalo for taking too many sacks and getting hurt. He was also the victim of a former midget qb's lockeroom politics. I'm from the minority of bills fans who thinks rob can be a good qb with the right coaching and offense. I think the fun 'n' gun fits him well. All he needs to do is to take less sacks and get rid of the ball sooner. You might hear differently from most bills fans because they still resent the guy. Let me tell you, some bills fans are idiots. At least you guys seem smart around here. I think you guys got a good team and i'm looking forward to seeing them this season along with a former bill, bruce smith. I hope he breaks the sack record! He deserves it. My only concern is pat ramsey. You guys know spurrier won't hesitate to change qbs. If he falters, I hope rob can come in and show the league he's a better qb. In fact, I hope that when we play you guys, if rob starts, you guys beat us. That way rob can stick it to some of those idiotic bills fans. I feel bad for the guy, he didn't deserve all that stuff he got in buffalo. Well thanks! Here's to a great season!

Welcome Highlander..hope you stick around

As far as Rob goes...I did not like the signing myself. Hope I never have to worry about him this year and that Ramsey plays all games this year. :)

Yep, a big hR welcome goes out to HighLander. Thanks for registering here.

As for RJ......I don't know a lot about him. Except what you stated in your first post. He takes way to many sacks.

I hope that he can do a good job BACKING UP Ramsey if something should happen........knocking on wood.......

Welcome to hR Highlander, glad you dropped by. I've heard rumors about Rob Johnson's fumbling problems. Other than that, I don't know too much about him. Hopefully he won't get any playing time.

Welcome aboard Highlander. Are you a member of any local "Bills Backer" club?

When I was in the states I would often watch (non skins) games at a local sports bar that had a huge "Backer" club.

BTW, I may be one of the very few here at hR that thinks Rob will do fine backing up Patrick.

Welcome, Highlander. Hope you post some more.

I'm not a big fan of Rob Johnson myself. I would have pursued Jake Delhomme instead. Johnson looks great in practice and in shorts, but put the pads on and play a real game and you see a different player. He doesn't read defenses well, doesn't sense the rush well, and makes too many poor decisions. Hopefully, Ramsey will stay healthy and play so well Spurrier won't be tempted.

Welcome aboard Highlander.

Johnson... I heard he got sacked twice today at WalMart and once on his way to the car:D:D

I also hope he never gets to go under center

Welcome HighLander and thank you for the support.

I wasn't too happy about the Rob Johnson signing myself........ but since he is a Redskin I hope he does his job....... and I hope that job remains "Clip Board Holder".

I pray that Ramsey is ready.....

Hey, highlander. You from buffalo? I'm from honeoye. My hole family are bills fans. I for one, think RJ is going to be a good backup. I hope he doesn't get thye chance to get in there, but if he does, I have more confidence in him that either wuerful or mathews.

I kinda like Rob... but he hasn't played for us yet... so that could change. I remember him at SC and he was the man back then. I think he got a bad rap... we'll see... hopefully he can handle H2O well...

Sorry rhyno, I'm in Florida. Yeah everyone hopes he doesn't get a chance to get in there. hehe. Just don't count it out because remember ramsey still doesn't have much experience and still floats a few. We all know Spurrier grows very impatient with his qbs.

Its nearly unanimous, I didn't like the Johnson signing either. I wanted Neil O'Donnell at the time. The bad points about Johnson that you mention say it all. He holds onto the ball far too long losing mega yards and gets himself injured every other play. He's firey enough, but doesn't seem mentally acute enough to be a solid starter. We're all of the mindset that Patrick Ramsey has the intelligence, arm strength, demeanor, and guts to be a heck of a QB in this league. Seeing Rob Johnson in the game will bum us out bigtime.

Hi Highlander ( I have a friend on a Scottish site named Highlander...)

I have a soft spot for the Bills because I'm married to a "former" Bills fan from West Seneca, NY but I've managed to convert him to a Skins fan.

About RJ, hope we don't need him and if we do, hopefully our OL can protect him.
